Communications Agent - Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air - Seattle, WA

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • The Communications Agent’s primary focus is receiving, recording and disseminating pertinent operational information to station and company personal.

  • Monitor all flights in progress for possible delays, weather, flight cancellations and other information to Seattle Station.

  • Input arrival and departure information and coding delays into the SABRE computer system through Gatesheet.

  • Monitor for and help resolve Parking and Gating issues.

  • Communicate with Flight Crew, Portland SOC, Outstation and OAL Personnel. – Other duties as assigned

  • Load Planning and Pre-fueling functions. Collect the preflight and fueling paperwork and provide it for the load coordinators and fueling dispatchers/leads/

  • Provide exceptional internal communication and customer service

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum age of 18 required

  • Authorization to work in the U.S required

  • Ability to provide quality internal customer service

  • Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Working knowledge of SABRE and IMAGE computer systems required

  • Ability to consistently lift 50 pounds required

  • Previous airline customer service experience required

  • Demonstrated knowledge of weather language and codes preferred

  • Ability to perform basic mathematics

  • Friendly, knowledgeable and polite in all situations

  • Demonstrated computer keyboard proficiency

  • Strong diplomacy and teamwork skills

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to perform basic mathematics

  • Regular and predictable attendance

  • If selected, ability to attend a training session
