The Grant Proposal Manager is responsible for writing proposals for both unrestricted operating revenue and restricted projects such as UNA-USAs Model UN program and for submitting timely and accurate tracking and status reports.The Grant Proposal Manager reports to the Deputy Executive Director of UNA-USA and works closely with the Director of Education Programs and Executive Director.The consulting project scope is three (3) months and is renewable as needed.
The consultant is expected to work 15 hours per week.
Work is to be done remotely, but office space is available on occasion as needed.
• Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
• Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants.
• Update current proposal templates and draft new proposal templates with direction from UNA-USA leadership for new programmatic vision.
• Research, identify and solicit prospects who fit with these current and future opportunities* Make appointments for UNA-USA leadership with prospects, as necessary.
• Maintain current records, including grant tracking and reporting.
• Track statistics relevant to development and provide department with written materials necessary for donor stewardship* Perform other duties as assigned.
• Minimum of two years experience with nonprofit grant proposal writing and research.
• Experience working in deadline-driven environments.
• Able to monitor and meet income goals.
• Strong written communication skills;* Ability to write and edit clear, structured, articulate, and persuasive proposals.
• Attention to detail.
• Knowledge of fundraising techniques, strategies and information sources.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work and manage time effectively and with little supervision;* Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
