Job Title:Director, Global Customer Solutions Engineering – Mountain View

The area: Advertising Sales, Sales Operations: Technical Sales Operations

Sales Technical Support plays a critical role in our company’s success, responding to the technical needs of our advertisers and internal sales teams. We’re a technology group that interacts extensively with advertisers, direct sales, product management and engineering. We provide technical support for all Google ad products and internal workflow applications, and we work collaboratively with all Google sales channels to improve systems performance and quickly resolve support needs.
The role: Director, Global Customer Solutions Engineering

As the Director, Global Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE), you will be responsible for managing the CSE team across our North America, LatAm, EMEA, and APAC regions. Your primary responsibility will be to hire, nurture, build and manage a high performing CSE team distributed globally. You will work closely with regional sales management to ensure alignment of objectives and key results and achievement of business goals. You will be a key member of the global ASTS management team. It will be key to ensure that the CSE team adds value to sales and customers with appropriate metrics and engagement. In this job, you’ll also combine your exceptional communication skills, technical aptitude and creative thinking to develop value propositions for our products and be engaged in the sales cycle with our customers and sales teams.
Responsibilities:

Provide strategic vision to the organization and ensure execution/delivery against the vision.
Partner with Sales and Sales Technology management to ensure alignment of strategies, objectives and key results and resource allocation with cross-functional stakeholders.
Provide leadership including performance management, feedback, recognition, promotion, setting priorities and resource allocation.
Provide metrics and impact assessment to help measure success and performance of the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

BS degree in computer science or its equivalent. In lieu of degree, 7 years of work experience in relevant field.
10 years of team and line management experience in building high performance teams and delivering complex projects with experience managing a technology consulting or technical support team
3 years of technical sales or field sales experience
2 years of applications development

Preferred Qualifications:

MBA or MS
Experience managing distributed, cross-cultural teams.
Sales engineering or professional consulting experience.
Strong technical background in Web technologies such as HTTP, HTML, XML, JavaScript, DNS and TCP/IP. Coding skills in C++, JavaScript, Java, PHP or Python.
Working knowledge of relational database administration.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with proven ability to adapt your presentations to the technical level of the audience.
