Residential DCPS Progress Monitor - First Home Care - VA, MD, DC - Washington, DC

Join the movement to radically change public education in the District of Columbia. Nationally, students with disabilities are twice as likely as their non-disabled peers to live a lifetime in poverty. This proposition is simply unacceptable. Our team can do something about it.

First Home Care has partnered with DC Public Schools to further DCPS's vision that students with disabilities will become successful adults who live independently, have careers and are productively engaged in the community. We are seeking an energetic and committed candidate to join our team as a Residential Student Progress Monitor for DCPS.

Residential Progress Monitors oversee the educational placements of the most vulnerable students in the District of Columbia. They oversee special education students placed in residential facilities by the Department of Youth Rehabilitative Services (DYRS) as well as students placed in local schools and group homes in the counties surrounding the District by the Children and Families Services Administration (CFSA).

The position requires a keen sense of how to think about the educational services for students with special needs. They position is primarily based in DCPS’ central office, and you will interact with schools all over the country as the LEA representative.
