Wage Range:
$9.50 – $12.50 per hour (up to $26,000 annually)


Full time Clerk:
Permanent Position


30 or more hours per week on average

Total Compensation for a Full time Clerk up to $32,797 annually.


Part time Clerk:
Permanent Position


29 hours per week or less on average

Seasonal Clerk:
Temporary Position


Maximum of 140 working days per year


Unlimited Weekly hours with overtime paid after 40 hrs per week


Intended for those attending school, or who have other seasonal work.


Position Overview


Receive, store, and issue sales floor merchandise. Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with merchandise and arrange merchandise displays to attract customers. May periodically take physical count of stock or check and mark merchandise.


Essential Job Functions


Answer customers’ questions about merchandise and advise customers on merchandise selection.


Stock shelves, racks, cases, bins, and tables with new or transferred merchandise.


Receive, open, unpack and issue sales floor merchandise.


Clean display cases, shelves, and aisles.


Compare merchandise invoices to items actually received to ensure that shipments are correct.


Non-essential Job Functions


Occasionally take inventory or examine merchandise to identify items to be reordered or replenished.


Occasionally requisition merchandise from supplier based on available space, merchandise on hand, customer demand, or advertised specials.


Occasionally pack customer purchases in bags or cartons.


Occasionally transport packages to customers’ vehicles.


Requirements


Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.


Mathematics — Ability to read a sequence of numbers, and knowledge of basic arithmetic and its applications.


English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
