NATURE OF WORK: An employee in this class is responsible for assisting with videotaping program material using video camera equipment, microphones, lighting equipment, still cameras, studio and field production equipment. Assist with editing and compression of audio-visual programs, assist with management of equipment in video studio and field locations as needed. Assist with and/or create scripted and non-scripted productions for broadcast and web distribution. Archive digital files and help maintain a library for reference. Set-up and operation of cameras, audio and video mixers, microphones, LED projectors, digital editing equipment, fast-fold screens, computers, lights, studio sets and other equipment as needed. Able to lift and transport equipment up to fifty pounds. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Demonstrated skill using studio and field video cameras Demonstrated skill using digital video editing principals and techniques including encoding media for web distribution Demonstrated skill in lighting, audio acquisition for both field and studio environments and production switchers Experience with Final Cut Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Flash, and Dreamweaver software Communicates effectively verbally and in writing while demonstrating proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation skillsAble to work professionally and courteously with all internal and external partners, faculty, students and community stakeholdersAble to organize and prioritize work in order to complete all assigned tasks within time frame required Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changes quickly while meeting all deadlines KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED (continued): Able to work independently, or in a team setting, in a fast paced environment, while demonstrating a level of detail where tasks and productions are completed accurately, efficiently, and show a high standard of production value Able to work evenings and occasional weekends and possess reliable transportation Other duties as assigned A demo reel is required. Please provide links to samples of work found on the web or non-returnable DVD EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Required – Bachelors Degree Desired – 1 to 5 years experience in a video production facility but will entertain internship experience TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 months SALARY: Pay Grade 68 PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally will be required to work outdoors and in a cold or hot environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, and bend. Employee is required to lift/carry and push/pull objects up to fifty pounds. Evening and weekend availability is necessary. Dependable transportation is also required.
