?Global Network Services team within Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise Division is looking for a network security engineer with strong experience in developing and delivering network solutions for large-scale datacenter driven IP networks. The ideal candidate needs to have in-depth knowledge of IP routing, firewalls, intrusion prevention, DDoS, as well as significant systems experience. In addition, the candidate will have strong demonstrable experience in programming or scripting languages. Must be flexible, and be able to work on multiple projects with different priorities while maintaining a team attitude. You will be able to leverage your strong programming skills to automate tasks, and simplify operational tasks.
Roles & Responsibilities
This role will be key in increasing the team’s capacity to deliver project work and in providing better after-hours support for security services.
Success is demonstrated in this role by:
Gaining a deep understanding of the security solutions the team manages
Troubleshooting service issues quickly and efficiently to root cause
Communicating effectively with the team and customers
Owning the service while making and implementing recommendations for improvement.
Develop automation software to integrate with existing systems and enhance existing functionality to scale our multi-vendor production network
Build software infrastructure for network monitoring and analysis, aid in capacity planning and network security change analysis
Skills & Qualifications
?The successful candidate must be capable of designing and deploying security solutions with little to no assistance. Also must be able to clearly document designs and processes.
Person must have a solid foundation in designing, managing and supporting network security solutions (firewalls, IDS/IPS, anti-DDoS, Authentication services).
Ability to design, deploy, configure, manage, and troubleshoot security technologies (firewalls, IPS, Anti-DDoS, and AAA services)
Ability to build automated solutions for various tasks leveraging variable inputs.
Understanding of network technologies, architectures and devices.
Experience Required
?Expert-level knowledge and experience in the network security field and ability to design and troubleshoot network security solutions.
Experience in developing security hardening procedures, security best practices, and policy implementation
Familiar with debugging large-scale systems
Experience with data analysis skills and statistical tools
BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or other technical field prefferred.
