Overview


World Resources Institute is seeking a staff accountant to manage payroll process and 403(b) contributions. The staff’s responsibility may include but not limit to payroll processing, preparing payroll reports, payroll reconciliation and 403(b) reconciliations.


Responsibilities


The staff accountant’s main areas of responsibility will include the following:


  • Process assigned payrolls timely to meet WRI needs.

  • Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.

  • Resolves payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.

  • Collect and follow up on missing critical data or questionable data prior to entry.

  • General clerical duties including filing and maintaining payroll information.

  • Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.

  • Review timesheets and send reminders to staff on a semi-monthly basis.

  • Reconcile payroll summary with the labor distribution report.

  • Reconcile 403(b) contributions and other voluntary deductions account.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 1-2 years relevent full-time experience in payroll processing

  • Experience with processing payroll utilizing payroll services, preferably ADP Enterprise HR/Payroll

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word/Outlook) required

  • Good analytical, problem solving skills, attention to detail and understanding of US GAAP

  • Customer service orientation with strong verbal and written communication

  • A self-starter with ability to work independently with minimum supervision to resolve moderate to complex problems

  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team environment

Final candidates will be required to take an analytical test.
