Visiting Lecturer in Chemistry - Framingham State College - Framingham, MA

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Department of Chemistry and Food Science at Framingham State University invites applications for a part-time Visiting Lecturer(s) to begin September 2016 for the following lecture and/or lab course:

CHEM 108 Principles of Chemistry and Quantitative Analysis. Lecture and/or one lab section. This course is a continuation of Principles of Chemistry and is designed to meet the needs of science majors as well as those pursuing a pre-health curriculum. Topics include gas laws, equilibrium, kinetics, thermodynamics, and acid/base chemistry. Laboratory focuses on techniques of quantitative analysis: preparations of solutions, wet chemical analysis using volumetric glassware, chemical measurements using pH electrodes and spectrophotometers, data analysis and laboratory report writing.


Lecture: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8:30 – 9:20 am


Lab Section: Thursday 1:30 – 5:20 pm


Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters degree in chemistry or closely related field


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Ph.D.

Previous teaching experience at the undergraduate level is desired.

This is a part-time, non-benefited, Visiting Lecturer position for the Fall 2016 semester.
