Employment Specialist – FT – $14.00-$17.36/hour - Opportunity Services - Tallahassee, FL

Are you a positive, energetic person interested in working with adults with disabilities and helping them gain individual employment? You could be the perfect candidate for the Employment Specialist Position with Opportunity Services. This full time placement will provide you experience in assessing the abilities of disabled adults participating in individual job placements, after they have been selected and trained for their responsibilities.

Position Requirements:


  • 4 year degree and or Master’s degree from an accredited college and one year experience in counseling, job placement job coaching or public vocational rehabilitation program OR

  • Associates of Arts degree from an accredited college and two year’s experience in counseling, job placement, job coaching, or a public vocational rehabilitation program OR

  • Four years experience of job counseling may substitute year for year for required college education and experience.

  • Clean driving record

  • Ability to lift/transfer 40 lbs.

  • Desire to work with adults with disabilities and/or behavioral needs

Position duties will include:

  • Evaluating barriers: understanding the needs of disabled adults and enabling them to overcome the barriers to individual employment.

  • Work site visits

  • Maintaining client files

  • Paperwork: completing necessary documents as needed.

  • Additional responsibilities: as assigned by position supervisor.
