Qualifications/Duties

Texas Heath Harris Methodist Fort Worth is seeking a Department Assistant to work full time, day shift in the Emergency Department. The Department Assistant will support 3 managers and the director. The main job responsibility would be department scheduling of nurses, techs and unit secretaries. Schedule is 32 hours a week Monday-Friday; some weekends and holidays.


The ideal candidate will poses the following:
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.


EXPERIENCE:
Up to one (1) year of office experience


SKILLS:
Usage of basic office equipment e.g. copier, fax.


Knowledge and usage of various business applications software, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel.


Good verbal and written communications skills to include good telephone skills. Basic grammar and spelling, e.g., memos, e-mail.


DUTIES:
Responsible for supplies management, mail distribution, filing correspondence or documents, faxing, copying, and telephone management with follow-up activities.


Provides various administrative clinic services e.g. admissions, insurance verification, payment receipts if located in a clinical area.


Performs data entry into databases and/or time and labor.


Responsible for maintaining various department schedules, mail or visitor logs, or mailing lists.


At a front desk position, responsible for patient scheduling related to clinical services.


Provides additional administrative or clerical assistance for events or projects.


Uses various word processing software applications, e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook to process forms, produce standard reports and correspondence.


Produces various receipts or forms for patient services rendered or for referrals as directed by management.
