being responsible for leading all outreach, recruitment & selection activities including the posting of all international (expat) vacancies, recruitment administration & recruitment activities to determine whether a candidate should be accepted into Action Against Hunger-USA’s international pool. Working closely with the Senior HR Officers (Senior HROs), the Senior Talent Officer recommends candidates for specific field vacancies.


Key activities in your role will include:


  • Recruiting international candidates anticipating field needs.

  • Researching the international development market identifying innovative ways to recruit humanitarian workers.

  • Conducting HR interviews to evaluate candidate"s general qualifications, motivation, and fit with Action Against Hunger.

  • Working with the technical and support areas to complet tech tests and interviews

  • Conducting reference checks.

  • Working with the HR team to identify and maintain a roster of national staff validated for international assignments.

  • Debriefing all international staff and national coordinators to discuss future assignment plans, individual career plans and upcoming learning & development opportunities.

  • Working with the technical and support teams, and Training Center to identify learning needs for each area.

  • Working with the Action Against Hunger network Recruitment Taskforce to ensure the HRIS is used to correctly calculated and reported on internationally agreed indicators.

  • Maintaining a library/list of effective technical testes and interview behavioral-based questions.

  • Working with the HR and Operations teams to identify academic programs and where potential junior staff and interns may be studying.

  • In collaboration with the Associate Director: HQ HR designing and implementing an outreach strategy to increase Action Against Hunger-USA’s visibility as an employer.

  • Leading the development of the Action Against Hunger-USA’s website career page and supervising other social media job posting.

  • Working with Senior HROs and HRCos to plan and execute targeted regional recruitment fairs.

You’re a seasoned HR professional


  • You have Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Learning & Development, International Studies or a related field.

  • You have at least three years of experience as a human resources generalist or recruiter, with a minimum one year leading a small team of HR professionals.

You’re a super communicator


  • You are expert conducting interviews remotely by phone or Skype, as well as managing a range of other selection activities including technical tests and assessment centers.

  • You are familiar conducting career follow up & development interviews.

  • You have experience directing a variety of outreach activities including career fairs, webinars, social media, and networking with other organizations.

Your work style builds trust within your internal clients


  • You are highly organized and pay attention to small details. You are calm under pressure, and able to easily adapt to changing circumstances.

  • You are goal-oriented while also being genuinely committed to helping others succeed.

  • You have genuine interest in and commitment to the humanitarian principles of Action Against Hunger.
