Broadcom is developing next generation Wireless (Wi-Fi) products for consumer electronics, PCs, Access Points and broadband routers. Broadcom’s AirForce family of 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN solutions are enabled across many product platforms. Wi-Fi based products are very rapidly growing, driven by Broadcom’s innovation and technology leadership. We’re looking for energetic, enthusiastic and driven engineers excited about 802.11 wireless networking, network protocols and embedded system requirements.


In this position, you will work on one or more projects in the Software Quality Assurance and Testing Department and have the following responsibilities:


a) Develop test plans for various WLAN features


b) Devise test strategies for different platforms and software environments including 3rd party applications.


d) Initiate and develop proactive methods to detect product weaknesses in a timely manner.


e) Conduct tests as required with internal (checked) and external (free) builds, analyze and report results, and document and track issues in the bug tracking database.


f) Provide product feedback to engineering teams, including program managers and actively engage in solutions.


g) Engage and interface with external testing agencies as appropriate.


h) Develop automated test scripts for various test suites using proven automation framework.


 


REQUIREMENTS:


– Total engineering minimum experience required is typically a BS degree and 6 years of experience, an MS degree and 3 years of experience or a PhD or equivalent.


– Education degree should be in EE (Electrical Engineering), CS (Computer Science), Math or equivalent.


– Typically requires a BS degree and 6 years of experience plus training or an MS degree and 3 years of experience plus required training or a PhD and no


experience. Degree should preferably be in Computer Science, EE or Math.


– Must have experience in software development/testing with a proven track record of delivering production quality software products in a fast paced environment


– You must demonstrate hands-on testing knowledge of white box and black box testing techniques.


– Should have testing experience in networking domain, preferably in WLAN.


– Must have sufficient software skills to implement test harnesses and test automation, including fluency in scripting languages such as TCL/Expect, Python or Perl.


-Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP protocols


-Good understanding of 802.11 a/b/g/n


-Prefer individuals who have developed and implemented WLAN feature/performance/stress/scalability test plans for Windows, Linux and other embedded operating platforms.


-Knowledge of certification processes such as Microsoft WHQL, Wi-Fi, Cisco CCX is a plus.


-Hands on knowledge of scripting languages tcl, python etc.


-Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
