Purpose of the Position


Under the supervision of the Digital Product Manager of DOC/Digital Strategy, the Project Manager will be part of a team of project managers to successfully plan, coordinate, produce and execute the Digital Transformation Project (DTP) – a multiyear investment project to replace UNICEF’s digital communication systems. The Project Manager will be assigned to various workflows as the Digital Transformation Project progresses from planning to implementation to operationalization.

Main Responsibilities


  1. Analyse business requirements and develop proposals, scopes of work, cost estimates and project plans for various workflows related to the Digital Transformation Project;

  2. Track progress against plans and conduct risk analysis and mitigation when necessary;

  3. Report on status of assigned workflows to supervisors and project stakeholders;

  4. Liaise between vendors and UNICEF project team on project planning and execution;

  5. Work with other offices (e.g. legal, HR, finance, procurement, IT) to ensure the efficient and timely completion of project workflows;

  6. Co-ordinate logistics of meetings with vendors, documenting outcomes and agreements and action points;

  7. Participate in vendor and software selection processes ensuring due diligence as per UNICEF procurement procedures and under the guidance of DOC (with ITSSD);

  8. Co-ordinate with other project managers to maintain, organize and update project files;

  9. Establish tools and processes for project and resource management for the project team;

  10. May be asked to work on weekends;

  11. May be asked to travel;

  12. Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications


  • Prior project management experience

  • Experience working in large, complex organizations

  • Experience with resource management

  • Strong people skills with an ability to be a diplomatic communicator

  • Highly analytical and experience with analytical tools

  • Highly organized and detail oriented

  • Strong command of written and spoken English for business communication

  • Non-profit experience a plus
