HOURS OF WORK: 17.5-19.5 hours/week, depending on availability, plus additional hours during vacations, Early Release Days and special events, 10-month position


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Support the operations of the program as a part of the administrative team

  • Supervised by King Open Extended Day Director and King Open After-school Manager

  • After-school receptionist for the school. Includes answering the phone and monitoring the after-school entrance to the building.

  • Point of contact for families daily including supporting families with student pick up, fee collection, general information, etc.

  • Maintain organized filing system.

  • Support all aspects and manage certain aspects of enrollment of children and fee management. Includes enrollment database management.

  • Manage and coordinate daily attendance taking

  • Support all aspects and manage certain aspects of the program budget, supply ordering and stocking of program and office materials.

  • Support classroom teams in creation and dissemination of family engagement materials and promotional materials.

  • Work closely and communicate regularly with King Open and DHSP administrative personnel to ensure smooth operations.

  • Maintain professional integrity and conduct by following and promoting program policies, procedures and routines. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree preferred.

  • Experience working in a community based or child care center preferred.

  • Sense of humor and ability to be flexible and problem solve.

  • Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to detail

  • Proficiency with the Microsoft office suite, or similar system..

  • Experience working with and creating strong relationships with families of diverse cultural, ethnic, linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds

  • Commitment to and experience with collaborative, team-oriented environment

  • Interpersonal skills that excel in cultural sensitivity, respect for differences, and communication

  • Bilingual/bicultural background a plus

  • Commitment to enhancing reflective practice and ability to accept supervision and guidance

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work environment includes office, classroom, and outdoor playgrounds. The noise level in work environment is moderately to very noisy.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, walk, and hear. The employee is occasionally required to run, during play or responding to an emergency. Employees are frequently required to engage with children on the floor and at their eye level. Employees are frequently required to use their hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects as well as reach. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move a child. Vision abilities are required for supervision of children.
