Summary:
The Shipping Specialist is responsible for providing delivery planning and control for products shipped to Mobis Georgia and internal customers, tracking all shipping data, communicating with customers about specific shipments, and seeking continual improvements in the processes.
Essential Functions:
– Create daily shipping schedule for both internal and external deliveries
– Monitor/manage inventories (internal & customer)
– Assist with development/implementation of improvement and/or cost reduction ideas
– Track shipping history and manage related documents
– Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding part delivery information
– Assist supervisors with Team Member training for quality issues, new programs, etc., including development of training materials
– Manage shipping rack inventory and rack condition
– Comply with and promote safety in the workplace
– All other duties as required
Supervisory Responsibilities: None
Required Education & Experience:
High school diploma or GED plus 5 years of experience in shipping or logistics role
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Organizational skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field
SAP Experience
Experience in a distribution or logistics facility
Working Conditions:
25% on production floor, 75% in office
Ability to lift 20-30 lbs.
Ability to traverse around the production floor
Overtime and weekend work as needed
