ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
An employee in this position perform job site safety by installing

appropriate construction signage, using personal safety protection and flagging

in accordance with Florida Department of Transportation Maintenance of Traffic

Standards. Properly operates and maintains various equipment such as, but not

limited to, pavement saws, jack hammers, shovels, et cetera. Performs

shoveling, raking and other manual tasks associated with spot shoulder repair.

Applies seed and hay to stabilize work areas. Assists with gathering materials

and equipment necessary to perform job tasks and other related work assignments.


REQUIREMENTS Requires the completion of the eighth grade and the ability to

follow oral and/or written instructions. Must be able to use and care for hand

tools (i.e. shovel, rake, pick, axe, and lawnmower). Performs preventive

maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Must be able to lift objects and

equipment in excess of 50 pounds; stand for long periods of time; and work under

various weather conditions.
