Dermatology Intern - North Carolina State University - Raleigh, NC





The Dermatology program provides advanced clinical training and specialization in the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases of small and large animals under the supervision of 3 board-certified specialists. Faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized leaders in their respective fields.

Training is designed to insure development of clinical competence in dermatology by facilitating development of clinical proficiency, clinical skills, and knowledge of dermatology through exposure to a wide variety of cases at all levels of complexity.


Essential Job Duties

The dermatology intern will be primarily receiving patients with skin diseases as a primary clinician under the guidance and supervision of senior NC State dermatology clinicians and residents (four days per week). One day per week will be spent in rounds (Dermatology Journal Club, Dermatopathology Rounds, Basic Science Reviews), teaching students and/or performing in house consultations on cases seen by other hospital services.

The dermatology intern will also be expected to participate in the teaching of senior veterinary students.

Minimum Education/Experience

DVM degree or equivalent

DVM , VMD or equivalent degree


Required License or Certification

Eligible for North Carolina Veterinary Licensure and/or Faculty Certificate under the supervision of the NCSU College of Veterinary Medicine, Veterinary Health Complex.
