Risk Mgmt Analyst V-Comm Ops - American Electric Power - Columbus, OH





NOTE: This is an entry-level position.

Job responsibilities entail working closely with various groups/departments (Structuring, Settlements, Accounting, Credit, Legal, Market Risk Oversight, Trading, etc.).


Principal Accountabilities:

1. Collect information related to daily report of profit/loss and position changes associated with our energy related commodity portfolios.

2. Support reconciliation of margin accounts for cleared instruments and validation of daily margin requirements.

3. Assist with interface between the Trading group to resolve issues and/or discrepancies with the risk book portfolio and mark to market earnings.

4. Support analysis of financial and physical commodity positions and market prices to ensure accuracy in the trade books through various reports and other tools.

5. Comply with Sarbanes Oxley requirements including quarterly updates and annual audits.

6. Interact with rotational analysts.


Bachelor Degree required in business discipline such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Math etc. Other degrees will be considered based on experience. Accreditation would be a plus. Must have excellent oral and written communication with the ability to communicate complex issues to multiple stakeholders.


Experience in trading, forecasting or modeling is desirable. Experience in VBA, SQL, and process improvement is a plus. Must be able to provide accurate information in a fast-paced and dynamic environment while observing critical deadlines.
