Southwest Energy Solutions is accepting resume/applications for the position of General Plant Technician in our Springerville, AZ location. The rate of pay for this position is $13.79 per hour.
Normal Minimum Requirements:
Must possess a valid up-to-date driver’s license Perform work alone within the conformance of training and safe work practices. Able to take directions and have a willingness to learn Work harmoniously with fellow workers and customers Must be able to bend, stoop and lift for extended periods of time Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills Basic understanding of construction site safety and the required protective equipment

Position Description:
An employee who is in the entry level classification in the section, and who is expected to perform general plant work in the section to which he/she is assigned. This employee possesses the ability to learn the required duties, the required safety awareness for their skill level and the physical coordination necessary to use tools and equipment.
This employee’s work may be directed by a Superintendent or other employees in a higher classification. He/she may be required to perform work as an individual. The work which is performed as an individual will be in conformance with training and safe work practices. This employee will maintain a high level of awareness and responsibility for environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company to the level of their knowledge, training and experience.
Essential Functions: (As defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, these include the following responsibilities, minimum job knowledge, skills, and abilities. This is not necessarily an all-inclusive listing.)
Position-Related Responsibilities:
Assist personnel in the department they are assigned to complete daily tasks. Maintaining coal belts under conveyors, basic site area clean-up and removal of refuse. Identify explosion-proof equipment May be required to operate equipment including, but not limited to steer-skid loaders, forklifts, small trucks and other equipment for which they have been trained. Perform work alone within the conformance of training and safe work practices. Able to take directions and have a willingness to learn. Perform assigned work in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with Company practices and procedures. Cleaning coal belts under conveyors, basic site area clean-up and removal of refuse
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of employees and customers, including speaking and describing safety/maintenance requirements. Able to work with people in a team environment Ability to read, write legibly, distinguish color codes, physically able to lift and carry heavy weights, within the scope of safe work practices. Make basic mathematical computations, and read non-technical sketches, operate job-related office machines (e.g. personal computers and faxes). Maintain a high level of awareness of environmental considerations that impact them, their jobs and the Company to the level of their knowledge, raining and experience.
