GoAhead Solutions has a great opportunity in Columbus, OH for a Lead QA Specialist. This would be a twelve month contract to start out.

Job Description:

Conversion QA Team Lead to work/manage on Core System Data Conversion project, leading a team of approximately 6 members in the developing and deployment of testing strategies required to accurately load legacy system data into a new information system.

This position is for the BWC(Bureau of Workers Compensation) Core Direction project. BWC is currently operating in an environment with limited to moderate automated functionality and data access.  Many business processes have manual or system (e.g., Excel, Access, etc.) workarounds.  Multiple applications are used to support single processes.  Lack of data, when and where needed, lack of integration between existing legacy applications and implementation of business process change regardless of application support drive many of the workarounds.  A portion of correspondence is manually generated and custom letter databases exist throughout BWC.  Multiple processes utilize the same workarounds.  Claims processes are the most mature, followed by billing processes with policy processes being the least mature.

The BWC Core System initiative, will replace several legacy systems with a claims, policy and billing COTS software solution known as Powersuite. 

These legacy systems include:

1. Claims processing – Version 3

2. Claims processing – Imaging

3. Policy Management and Billing – WCIS

The following legacy system’s functionality may be impacted by the BWC Core System initiative:

1. Rates and Payments – R&P

2. Ohiobwc.com

Skills and Experience – 7 years working in a software development, testing and project management environment which includes:

Assignment Responsibilities

-Management of the Conversion QA Team

-Success for the data conversion QA task

-Review and approve QA Team work products

-Task Management in accordance to project schedule

-Provide regular status updates to Conversion Project Manager of the progress of testing activities

-Reports to the Conversion Project Manager

Skill Sets Needed:

-Management of data conversion testing – evidence of at least one conversion project

-Task and resource management – (3+ years experience)

-Management of small teams of up to 10 members in size (3+ years experience)

-Experience in use of SharePoint and other Document repository tools

-Experience in building manual testing components, executing the associated test scripts and documenting invalid conditions in a defect tracking system (5 years) 

-Proficiency in building and executing SQL queries in support of testing needs to find and validate certain data (5 years)

-Background and Experience in use of test case and defect management and automated testing tools (5 Years)

-Agile development environment (2 years)

-Software Development LifeCycle (3+ years experience)

-Working knowledge of Team Foundation Server (TFS) and Microsoft Test Manager

-Familiarity with PowerSuite

-Desktop skill proficiency to Microsoft Word; Microsoft Excel

-Microsoft Excel

-Experience in using Clarity

-Basic Insurance industry knowledge - General Workers’ Compensation Industry knowledge preferred

We're looking for a talented, experienced software QA engineer with solid functional skills and a passion for testing software for Client Server applications. He/She is responsible for writing test cases, testing and support of new and existing FX (Foreign Exchange) products for the company. He/She is responsible for identifying, documenting software defects and as well as working with development and product management to create and execute comprehensive test plans. He/She will work closely with QA Manager on identification of critical flows in our application for automation candidates

Responsibilities Include:

Analyze Product and Customer requirements and design effective test cases to meet those. Work closely with team members and with other teams to ensure quick resolution of Customer reported issues. Write, review and implement test plans and test cases (both manual and automated). Perform the required testing for all software modification Work with Operations team to resolve production issues as needed. Document all Test artifacts including Test Cases, Test Plans in the Test Case Management System Research technologies and methodologies which will improve our test practices

Qualifications:

5 - 8 years prior experience in Software QA,
. working with a Trading Platform (preferably FX) is a VERY STRONG plus Bachelor's Degree or equivalent industry experience acceptable.
. Java-based Web SERVICES REQUIRED
Refined proficiency at precise written and verbal communications.
Experience with and understanding of databases (Oracle)
. SQL QUERY for database validation REQUIRED
Familiarity with Unix or Linux and Windows operating systems Must be comfortable using standard UNIX utilities to do testing and identify issues.
Strong working knowledge of software build and release management processes such as maintaining QA environment would be a plus.
Experience with automation tools (QTP preferable)
. Experience with Java or Perl programming would be a Plus.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Functional responsibilities:

Assume technical authority and direction to flow assurance work and lab testing
Responsible for interdisciplinary design verification and quality control
Ensure sharing and implementation of standards and guidelines
Identify and propose key technologies and applications thereof, and support their development and implementation

Project responsibilities:

Ensure development of philosophies and detailed specifications for flow assurance in all phases of the project
Identification and implementation of Lessons Learned, both internal and industry
Manage evaluation and selection of vendors
Proactively manage interfaces to flow assurance stakeholders
Manage and direct laboratories and contractor to comply with company requirements

Qualifications and Profile:

MSc, BE, or PhD in chemical engineering with 8 years of up-to-date experience from oil and gas upstream industry projects including significant offshore experience
FPSO or similar deep water production projects experience is preferred
Demonstrated strong proactive safety approach
Experience in flow assurance engineering for topsides and subsea offshore production
Experience with and interest in reservoir management
Competent interdisciplinary team worker for subsurface, reservoir management, front-end, and engineering phases
Experienced in managing international laboratories and consultants, focusing on quality output and timely delivery
Experience and interest in the development of corporate standards, guidelines and staff
Interest in novel/innovative technology development and implementation
Ability to effectively represent company externally
Good communication and social skills, effective across a broad spectrum of nationalities and cultures
