Primary responsibilities include providing on-site technical support solutions for customer service delivery and availability, while ensuring satisfaction with Microsoft software on the exchange client and server. The successful candidate will be capable of providing field technical support presence for groups in the Microsoft Services organization, including but not limited to Premier and Professional Support, Microsoft Consulting Services, and escalation engineers. The Premier Field Engineer acts as the primary onsite technical contact, providing customer visibility, advanced technical troubleshooting support and problem resolution for Product Support Services and corporate customers, including issues escalated to the highest levels of management.  

The candidate will provide technical support including product technical training onsite, as well as via telephone, and electronic media. Candidate must be able to manage hot issues by setting customer expectations, devising and implementing action plans, being available 24x7 and professionally communicating to all parties involved.

Recommended qualifications include: Superior problem solving and troubleshooting skills at the System Engineer level; exceptional customer service, overall communication and technical writing skills. Must have sufficient technical depth to communicate with development and other internal organizations at a peer level; Must possess the ability to work independently with minimal management supervision and as part of nationwide team of engineers; Demonstrated aptitude for providing exceptional customer service in politically charged environments; Ability to enhance the technical expertise of peers via the development of product training, mentoring of new hires, and team content development; Ability to apply technology to improve existing products and systems at customers and for internal use; Ability to actively participate in team support by proposing and implementing solutions; Assist in developing strategies to gain additional Premier support accounts by contacting and establishing relationships with Premier Support Managers and Technical Account Managers.

Technical Requirements:   Solid understanding of Microsoft System Center 2012 components with a strong focus on Service Manager and how it integrates with the other Suite components. Candidate will need significant client/server skills, networking, and Internet fundamentals and a superior knowledge and demonstrated technical proficiency in System Center Service Manager with experience in managing medium to large environments.   The candidate should be able to advise on best practices, deploy, configure and troubleshoot all aspects of SCSM effectively and understand the product configuration, flow and logging in detail.   The candidate should also understand the configuration required in order to connect and integrate products such as Operations Manager, Configuration Manager, Orchestrator, Active Directory and SharePoint (Self-service Portal) with Service Manager.   In addition, experience with Service Manager Authoring, in combination with Designing and integrating with runbooks in Orchestrator is desired.   An understanding of MOF and ITIL basics and how Service Manager supports these processes is also desired. Experience and familiarity with other IT service management products is a plus.

Knowledge/understanding of the following would be advantageous:  

        Basic SQL Deployment, Configuration and Querying

        PowerShell

        SharePoint

        SCSM Exchange Connector,

        Orchestrator Integration Packs

        Model / class based architecture in SCOM / SCSM,  

        Deploying SCOM and Management Pack Best Practices,  

        Deploying SCCM and basic configuration of features like User Affinity, Hardware/Software inventory and Software Distribution.  

        Third-party Service Manager add-ins.

        SQL Analysis Services, reporting, Cubes and PerformancePoint, Excel Pivot tables, Powerpivot.  

        XML Editing

        Basic Scripting

Overnight travel is required. Travel requirements vary regionally and could be as much as 40-70%. Candidates must possess current passport or be able to obtain passport within 90 days of hire. The candidate should already have current US work authorization, live within US and be willing to relocate. Remote candidates will not be considered.  

They must be available for travel dispatch 24x7x365.  

Education: College degree, preferably in Computer Science, is required. MCSE strongly preferred. Will consider related field (or equivalent) experience.

Foreign language fluency is preferred. This position requires international travel to developing countries.

Overview
The Western Transportation Institute (WTI) is the nation’s premier university center for research on rural transportation issues. WTI was founded in 1994 by the Montana Department of Transportation and the California Department of Transportation in cooperation with Montana State University. WTI’s research focuses on safety and operations, road ecology, winter maintenance and materials, infrastructure materials and maintenance, systems engineering development and integration, and mobility and public transportation. WTI has research and demonstration projects in over 30 states. Located in the College of Engineering, WTI has an annual budget exceeding $8 million and an 80-person interdisciplinary staff of students, professionals and associated faculty from engineering (civil /industrial/mechanical/electrical), computer science, psychology, business, ecology, and economics.

WTI is headquartered at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. MSU, with an enrollment of approximately 14,000, is located in the majestic Rocky Mountains of Southwestern Montana, situated between Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks. Colorado College ranks the Gallatin Valley (home of Bozeman) as the healthiest place to live in the Rocky Mountains. The Systems Engineering, Development and Integration (SEDI) Program at WTI researches and applies best practices to evaluate and develop software, hardware and database, communication systems for transportation. SEDI staff work closely with sponsors and others at WTI to put research into practice. The SEDI Program is team-oriented, hands-on, and focuses on application. Staff and student researchers apply their expertise in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, and Education to address transportation problems with advanced technology. The Systems Engineering, Development and Integration Program laboratory provides advanced communication capability to staff from lab to roadside, along with facilities for fabrication and prototype development, and advanced software and hardware development. The SEDI Program has a range of research and development projects that involve a many states and federal agencies.

Duties and
Responsibilities

The Senior Research Associate will also develop proposals to secure contract and grant funding, direct and lead an interdisciplinary team of research staff and focus on fulfilling specific defined scopes of work. He/she will collaborate with sponsors to determine requirements of research and development as well as deployment needs. Telephone and internet communication with sponsors, as well as face-to-face visits and regular out-of-state/ country meetings will be required. The Senior Research Associate will work report to the SEDI Program Manager during research development, integration and deployment to ensure quality and to meet sponsor needs.

The Senior Research Associate will direct project research and development in the areas of systems and software engineering, analysis, development and integration for transportation research, education and training projects. The incumbent will interact with staff, faculty, students, stakeholders and sponsors, and will work closely with project teams, including staff in other program areas, to provide quality research, development and demonstration of technological solutions. Specific existing project activities include research and development related to software and hardware systems for weather and winter mobility, traveler information embedded systems, communication systems, public transportation, and rural applications of advanced technology. For this position it is anticipated that the major project responsibilities will be focused on two federally funded and nationally significant initiatives including the North/West Passage Operational and Travel Information Integration Sharing project that involves eight states (WA. ID, WY, MT, ND, SD, MN, and WI) that manage and operate I-90/ I94 Corridor; and the Federal Transit Administration Transit in Parks Technical Assistance Center (TRIPTAC) advanced technology application systems.

Job duties are to: conduct software and hardware-related research and development related to the Systems Engineering, Development and Integration research program area at WTI.

Specific duties include but are not limited to: Providing system research and development leadership including software, hardware and human interface design; coding on a variety of systems including Windows, Linux, web (server), database, desktop, client-server, mobile data terminal, embedded and handheld; documentation of systems and code; testing of systems and subsystems. Producing concise, accurate and audience appropriate documentation and training materials for the use, implementation, and deployment of computer, communications and general systems. Oversee the development of test plans to comprehensively test systems, subsystems, and products, and thoroughly document test results. Using online and print resources, direct contact with vendors by voice and/or by email, and product documentation to research and evaluate computer, communications and general systems products, research reports, specifications, white papers, standards, and other documentation. Lead communication and interaction with research sponsors, university faculty, students, professional organizations, and vendors/manufacturers, including technical memoranda, final reports and general and technical documentation. In a team environment, provide project-related technical support and assistance to staff and sponsors for the identification, procurement, installation, and maintenance of computer, communications, and general systems hardware and software. Lead systems engineering processes by conducting requirements analyses and developing project related work scopes, evaluation plans, concepts of operations and related documents. Working with a team to prepare draft and final project reports, quarterly reports and fulfilling sponsor requirements. Reporting progress and results to researchers and sponsors at an audience appropriate level. Conduct outreach to federal/ state agencies and private sector sponsors. Conducting onsite implementation and training for technology developed within the program. Attending staff, project and program area meetings as requested.

Required
Qualifications

B.S. in Computer Science or a related field. Significant management experience relating to project management, customer service, and technology development. Significant software development experience including two or more of: web and other client-server applications, embedded systems, relational databases and graphical user interfaces in both UNIX/Linux and Windows Environments, smart phone applications. Experience in both UNIX/Linux and Windows Environments. Software development experience with languages such as but not limiting to Java, JavaScript, C, C++, MS-Access, MySQL, PHP, Python, Perl, HTML, CSS, XML, C#, ASP.NET and SQL-Server.

Preferred
Qualifications

M.S. in Computer Science or a related field. Demonstrated technical writing skills to develop systems/software and general engineering documents, reports and publications. Experience in systems and software engineering in transportation or a related field, including demonstrated excellence in the assessment of system requirements and the development of software applications. Industry-recognized certification: Cisco CCNP, Microsoft MCSE, etc. “ Hands-on” development and integration experience. Understanding of general and rural transportation issues. Experience with Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).

The Department of Genome Sciences is comprised of 27 labs addressing leading edge questions in biology and medicine by developing and applying genetic, genomic and computational approaches taking advantage of genomic information now available for a host of species. Genome Sciences is a collaborative department supported by very different academic disciplines. Our DEPARTMENT OF GENOME SCIENCES at the University of Washington has an outstanding opportunity for a TEMPORARY SYSTEMS ANALYST/PROGRAMMER 1 . This individual will be involved in processing of nextgen sequencing data from a DNA sequencing laboratory for submission to national databases Responsibilities include the following:

Support data submission to national repositories
• Manage data submission to various national repositories. This includes tracking which samples need to be submitted and making sure all data files are transferred to the repositories.
• Update and modify programs and scripts as necessary for data submission. This includes modifying perl and/or java code that generates XML for submission to repositories. Submitting data to national databases is a required component for our research program.
• Support robotic workstations by developing scripts for high throughput protocols; the temporary RSE1 will work with a Research Scientist to modify and develop robotics programs.
• Work with laboratory team to efficiently process and track DNA samples.
• Perform routine assessment of data quality and assist with trouble-shooting and daily quality control of data.
Contribute to research project advancement
• Aid in the development of new experimental methods and assist laboratory co-workers and PI in meeting long-term scientific goals
• Attend Genome Sciences and University meetings, retreats, status updates, orientations and planning days when necessary
The successful candidate must demonstrate organization, commitment, the ability to work alone and in complex teams, experience in programming and scripting, and beginner knowledge of DNA sequencing.
Requirements:
Two years of college coursework in computer science or a related field

equivalent education/experience.

Job Description This position will be at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard & Intermediate Maintenance Facility, and the task will be to prepare and review Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) planning and technical work documents (TWD’s) in support of shipboard Combat Systems maintenance and problem resolution. This work will be accomplished during PHNSY & IMF submarine availabilities. The length of the employment will be determined by PHNSY & IMF. The duties for this position will include developing TWD’s in support of shipboard Combat Systems (Mechanical) maintenance and repairs as follows:

1. Technical Work Documents (TWD) shall be developed/modified using the Government’s AIM computer program and other Navy data systems including:
a. Material research and ordering.
b. Preparing Quality Assurance (QA) documents.
c. Advanced Technical Information Support (ATIS) & Ship’s Drawing
Index (SDI) drawing research.
d. Compiling Allowance Parts Lists (APL).
e. Reviewing Submarine Maintenance Standards (SMS).
f. Completing Unrestricted Operations/Maintenance Requirement
Cards (URO/MRC).
2. Provide technical advice and information to C/290 Division, Shop, Ship or other Shipyard personnel. As required, seek and exchange technical information with off-station activities.
3. Must have Engineering Technician background with administrative and/or supervisory experience on ships related to operation of Combat Systems, and must have experience in several of the following systems: weapons delivery systems, 3” launchers, sail systems & components, towed sonar system handlers, SUBSAFE requirements, and safety tag out requirements. (M) Required Skills - Must have experience using Advanced Industrial Management (AIM) to
develop TWD’s.
- Must have detail knowledge of work within the SUBSAFE boundary.
Desired Skills - Experience as a Naval Shipyard Combat Systems Test Engineer.
- Shipyard experience with in depth Combat Systems technical field knowledge.

Our client, located in New York, New York, is seeking a Senior UNIX Systems Engineer. The candidate should have prior experience with LAMP.

Main Duties:
* Design, implement, and support Linux and Sun Solaris Server and storage solutions based on needs of the business and industry best practices
* Review business and technical architectural requirements to develop and recommend unique solutions for the UNIX Server and storage framework
* Ensure that all computer systems are current, reliable, tuned and accessible in accordance with service level agreements
* Primary responsibilities include designing, engineering, systems architecture, and operations for a large Linux and Sun Solaris IT environment
* Conduct performance and operations management to ensure smooth operation and overall efficiency of the server environment
* Perform upgrades and patches; managing and monitoring system and application back-ups; performance monitoring, and notification tools
* Develop and manage server, storage, and application configurations as well as implement new projects and technologies
* Perform hardware set-up, software installation / configuration, and administration of the UNIX Server environment
* Coordinate and manage installation / configuration and administration of Sun Solaris and Red Hat Linux and services such as SSH, DNS, NFS, and LDAP
* Evaluate, recommend, and implement hardware and software
* Implement, configure, and support LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) Web Server Linux environment
* Perform production support including checking daily logs, back-up / recovery procedures, disaster recovery, and periodic maintenance
* Develop and maintain Shell scripts such as Korn, C Shell, and Perl to automate systems and application processes
* Analyze and resolve problems associated with server hardware and applications software and actively seek, diagnose, and report problems

The successful applicant will possess the following requirements (items are required unless noted otherwise):
* Experience in designing, implementing and managing highly available and scalable systems that provide maximum up-time and throughput
* Understanding of relational databases and server requirements to provide a stable, reliable infrastructure
* Strong experience in implementing, configuring, and supporting LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) Web Server Linux environment
* Ability to gather metrics and monitor systems at all levels including low level system calls to user space applications to insure that Service Level Agreements (SLA) are met
* Expert-level knowledge in implementation and management of complex storage (SAN) environments, including disk and RAID Group configurations, volume management, and back-up/recovery strategies
* Ability to conduct performance tuning; ensure availability of systems, and perform capacity planning
* Ability to actively support and perform deployment of in-house and third-party applications
* Ability to perform on-call and other duties for 24x7x365 operations
