IBM Storage Product Release Engineer
Job Description:
Our RTP technology leader client has an immediate 3 month contract requirement for a strong Level 2 IBM Deskside Support Technician to help them with the deployment of IBM Storage Product releases.
Required experience includes:
* Excellent understanding of desktop computer systems including components and multiple platforms (eg Desktop Windows 2000, XP, Linux, etc.).
* 2+ years experience with IBM hardware, software, processes, and best practices; helping manage the internal Beta program, IOP test coordination, performing and/or validating classical product testing (Emissions, operational shock and vibe, thermal, acoustics, etc.).
* Experience with Compliance Testing.
* Some experience with Project Management.
* Good oral and written communication skills; including documentation.
* Ability to support, configure, and troubleshoot a wide range of applications.
* Good customer service and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to follow detailed instructions.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team of other Desktop Systems Specialists to support deadlines.
* Work with cross-functional teams on joint projects including new product development testing.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently and adjust priorities and focus as requirements may shift in a dynamic environment.
In this role, You will be working as part of a team to release IBM Storage Products, helping manage an internal Beta program, IOP test coordination, performing and/or validating classical product testing (Emissions, operational shock and vibe, thermal, acoustics, etc.). You will help coordinate product documentation, CD/DVD content for release product, and providing web content. You will also be responsible for performing environmental safety evaluation tests.
