Senior Facilities Engineer - USA

Our client is a subsidiary of one of the largest oil and gas producers in the Far East and is looking to recruit a Senior Facilities/Process Engineer to be based out of its Houston office.
The role holder will provide cost effective engineering, design and construction advice to our client's operating companies and teams.

The objectives for the role are:-
People
o Interface with the project engineers, asset owners, Business Unit (BU) managers, external Parties.
o Manage contractors and monitor their performance.
Plan, Process & Procedures
o Develop controls strategy, plans, processes and procedures reflecting both Company objectives and contractor's roles and responsibilities.
o Verify design and engineering compliance with Company procedures, Company engineering standards, International Codes and Standards and best industry practices.
o Adhere to segment business, project and finance processes.
Projects
o Provide technical support to project teams.
o Implement, monitor, and verify design and engineering work, ensuring technical integrity.
o Carry out or manage teams for audits, production surveys and various field and plant studies.
o Develop/implement innovative engineering solutions aligned to strategic options.
o Progress engineering modifications via Management of Change process.
o Ensure HSSE standards are maintained in the workplace and appropriate processes are followed, in accordance with industry best practices and local legislation.
Finance

Experience
BSc or BEng in Chemical Engineering (or equal).
Experience in upstream oil and gas industry with contractor or operator.
Experience in production of normal range of process deliverables; reports, technical notes, H&MB, PFD, PID, C&E, data sheets, line lists, sizing and rating calculations, etc.
Experience of design and safety reviews, e.g. HazOp study.
Familiar with software programs HYSYS and Pipesim.
Knowledge of International Codes and Standards relating to process design. Must be flexible in moving between larger projects and short technical assessments/studies.
Must have ability to accomplish tasks in a small-company environment.

Cost Engineer - Facilities Project - USA

The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Cost Engineer - Facilities Project in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
The purpose of this position is to provide cost support to a portfolio of projects with the Shale Venture.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Develop and implement cost structure, then monitor, report and forecast project cost using SAP and other cost management tools.
Integrate data from Client and engineering/construction contractors to prepare monthly project reports.
Work closely with the projects teams to monitor Management of Change process, identifying cost and schedule impacts of proposed changes and incorporating those impacts into the project forecast and budget.
Manage the interface between Project Services and Finance plus Contract and Procurement.
Support the development of the Work Breakdown Structure to support project delivery
Generate accurate monthly cost reports, highlighting variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, management of changes and currency fluctuations against approved Authorities For Expenditure (AFEs).
Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.
Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes.
Raise awareness of the importance of developing the cost management structure in early project phases.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to learn and develop. The successful candidate will be a core team member of Project Services Organization supporting multiple projects in the US.

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Engineer or equivalent experience.
Experience from pipeline projects desired
Minimum 8 years industry experience in cost engineering positions.
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills..
Working experience with SAP is required
Working experience in upstream Project Services organization.
Must have a Team attitude, be self-motivated and be willing to support other groups and projects when required.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment among multiple projects and ability to support ad-hoc requests.

The Company:
Our major Oil & Gas Client is in need of a Project Planner - Facilities in Houston, Texas.

The Role:
The main purpose of this position is to provide planning and scheduling support to the Shale Venture. Some business travel to Laredo, TX will be expected.

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:
Assess and incorporate the impact of approved changes and any deviations from project targets and milestones, including productivity monitoring and identification of alternate approaches to optimise the plan(s)
Support the delivery and maintenance of consistent and realistic plans and control structures for the project. Understand and monitor the interfaces between assigned project sub-elements and other sub-elements. Develop the activities, logic, resources and progress for the assigned project sub-elements.
Comply with the planning and progress monitoring procedures.
Conduct the schedule monthly progress update, forecast, critical path and trend analyses for assigned elements, including any impact from interface areas. Provide input to the status reports and ensure that these include the incorporation of approved changes.
Liase with project engineering personnel to assist proper understanding of the key schedule sensitivities and drivers.- Assist with identification of alternate approaches to optimise the plan(s).
Know the contract key dates, milestones and Clientl plan dates and how they relate to the overall project schedule. Understand the requirements of the contract sections for planning and progress reporting. Review and verify contractors reported progress and incorporate into schedule progress updates.
Maintain awareness of critical and sub-crticial paths and track float consumption.
Utilise the Client standard tools and processes.
Assist in the preparation of input data for benchmarking activities.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop cross functional skills in the Project Services skillpool.

Minimum of 4 years industry experience in planning positions.
Working experience with Primavera 6.0 is required

Ability to work in a dynamic environment among multiple projects and ability to support ad-hoc requests.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management principles. PMP certification is desirable, but not required.

The role: Data Center Facilities Electrical Engineer

You are a highly motivated Electrical Engineer with demonstrated design and construction experience in the area of complex and mission critical facilities. You have knowledge of large-scale mission critical facility’s electrical infrastructure systems is highly desirable. You have excellent communication skills, able to work in teams and matrix organization, fluent in AutoCAD, & some estimating skill are essential in order to provide design requirements and interfaces between internal customers and DC DB (Data Center Design Build) team. PE license preferred.
Responsibilities:

Define electrical infrastructural system design requirements for the most energy efficient Data Center globally.
Define the electrical system design requirements and interfaces to plant electrical infrastructure between the various internal end users and external DC DB team.
Develop and maintain strong functional relationships across multidisciplinary teams to anticipate future design requirements and interfaces.
Perform electrical power system audit, and witness startup and commissioning as required globally.

Requirements:

BS or equivalent, MS is preferred.
At least 5 years experience DB environment for fast track mission critical facilities.
Experienced in design, operational, and commissioning of UPS, switch gear, generators, automatic and static transfer switches, transformers, controls, security monitoring & life safety systems is desirable.
Fundamental understanding of large scale facility electrical infrastructure systems
Knowledgeable in the compliance requirements of the pertinent codes, regulations, and standards.
The ability to understand the various project delivery processes, able to generate conceptual schematic drawings, SOW (scope of work) statements, & budget estimates is preferred.
Need to have strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to prioritize work efficiently, and good team orientation. Travel Requirements (including international travel): – up to 50% if not based in Mountain View – up to 30% if based in Mountain View .
