We're looking for an extremely strong Senior Program Manager with 8+ years of experience who has a great track record, including shipping multiple large scale products. A knowledge of user interface design, platform architecture and NUI is desired.
You will be expected to ramp up quickly in a variety of areas from a new game engine to the latest algorithms from Microsoft Research. A BS or MS in computer science or related discipline is preferred.
In addition to extremely strong technical and organizational skills, this person will need to enjoy being part of a fast moving, high-technology, cross-discipline creative and artistic team. The successful candidate will have strong communications skills and must be able to work well in a highly technical environment across disciplines, cross-group and with external partners.

We plan to make significant improvements in the engineering of how we test Outlook. The test pass for Outlook today is too long. We need engineers who can help us make significant improvements in our testing methodology. Automation and tools will be one piece of that effort, but it will be broader than just automation. We have cross discipline and senior management buyoff on investing in improving our test engineering. Now we need people to bring their ideas on the direction and help us execute.
Outlook is incredibly complex. It connects to several different servers today (Exchange, SharePoint, POP/SMTP, IMAP) and it will get more complex moving into the future (Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace). There are so many different ways someone can use Outlook. We need people to help us manage that complexity. It is a great opportunity to stretch and grow your abilities.
There are significant challenges facing Outlook. I am excited about those challenges because dealing with them requires good *engineers* and Microsoft has good engineers. Qualifications:

Our team is the Tools team for Windows Embedded. We write the tools that developers use to assemble a smaller version of Windows, that is targeted specifically to their embedded hardware and applications. We are looking for a lead developer to take on managing an existing group of developers who work on these and other tools.
To be successful in our team, you will need to be passionate about the embedded space, with interest the composition of embedded operating systems, and toolkit UI and usability. You must have had proven experience leading a team, either as a manager or functional team lead, and need to be able to manage both local and off campus (US) employees. You must be able to manage projects across multiple developers in your own team, as well as working closely with other teams outside of the US. You must have five years’ experience in Windows application programming using C++/COM and C#/.NET. Windows Kernel Level Debugger skills and experience, Windows Activation model experience, or knowledge of the Windows layering model or Windows Components would definitely be helpful, but are not absolute requirements.
