Resolves inquiries and complaints via person-to-person, in the field, telephone or e-mail inquiries in an effective, professional and courteous manner for both customers and internal associates

Reduces revenue losses by implementing existing business practices that apply to bad debt recovery, unbilled meters, enforcing deposit policies, and identification of other areas of potential exposure and maintains statistical information as needed

Successfully completes all training and associated assessments; department standards must be met or exceeded

Provides professional and courteous customer service to effectively resolve various energy consumption inquiries via person-to-person or telephone contacts

Detects, investigates, and collects revenue from energy diversions, as applicable or assigned

Actively manages, preps for and troubleshoots DNPs or may assist in preparation of customer notices, as needed or assigned

May provide on-the-job training or formal training classes on related customer service subjects as directed by management in a limited range of topics and may serve as a specialist in development of customer service training, as applicable or assigned

COMPETENCIES:

Ability to respond promptly to customer needs and solicit dialog with customers to improve or exceed customer expectations

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or GED with one to three years of related/applicable experience (e.g. customer service, collections, cashiering, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and/or experience related to the discipline.

The Customer Service Representative I position has frequent contact with the City's utility customers by phone and through counter duty resolving customer inquiries and/or complaints. This position performs general clerical and accounting functions that applies basic principles of accounting in support of accounting systems for assigned areas of functions such as accounts receivable, cash receipts, and collections.

JOB SUMMARY: PG 23

A Water Service Representative visits owner-occupied properties with delinquent water service accounts to receive payment or terminate service. Reports to the Customer/FOG Services Manager. Incumbent in this job classification may also be trained in performing the duties of a Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) Compliance Inspector.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Read and effectively use city and county maps to plan efficient driving routes.

Receive payment for metered water charges or terminate water service at owner-occupied properties.

Use a hand-held computer device and electronic credit card reader to effectively and efficiently complete assigned duties.

Renew water service after delinquent accounts have been paid.

As needed, will be assigned to conduct inspections of food service establishments to ensure grease interceptors are constructed, installed and performing correctly.

Ensure Food Service Establishments that discharge wastewater into an ECUA wastewater facility comply with the terms and conditions of the Grease Abatement Ordinance.

With tact and courtesy address the public and maintain composure in difficult and/or stressful situations.

Report evidence of water theft or meter tampering to the supervisor.

All other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma, GED or equivalent. (Educational documentation will be requested upon offer of employment.)

Two years of customer service work experience.

Basic level experience using computers.

Proficiency in Spanish is desirable, but not required.

Any combination of education, training, and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Testing for reading comprehension and basic workplace math calculations may be administered prior to an interview and/or job offer.

Licenses and Certifications:
Possession of or ability to obtain a Florida Driver License upon offer of employment.

ECUA will obtain a motor vehicle record of selected candidate(s) prior to employment. Candidate with 6 or more points and/or 2 moving violations within 3 years will not be eligible for a driving position with the ECUA.

Responsibilities

- Performs complete intake processes for third-party insurance and other various referral source orders for home medical equipment and supplies.

- Interacts with nurses, physicians, caregivers, and patients to obtain information needed to process patient specific orders

- Actively participates in hands-on product fittings and equipment demonstrations, retail sales, purchasing, inventory, stocking, merchandising, and fitting for items such as compression garments, orthopedic supports, and prosthetic appliances.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or G.E.D. completion required

- Previous DME or Home health industry experience and / or equivalent service preferred

- Computer skills required

- At least 6 months retail sales experience preferred

- At least 6 months of customer service experience preferred

- Must have professional and courteous telephone and interpersonal skills, and well developed oral and written communication skills

- Ability to learn and utilize basic listening, research, and problem-solving skills

- Ability to tolerate frequent changes in position (sitting,/standing/walking/bending) to accommodate product fitting and demonstration activities, as well as the ability to move and/or lift objects up to 50 pounds

- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of emotional maturity, poise, flexibility, and good judgment in responding to high volume of various customer interactions

- Ability to demonstrate a high degree of empathy, tact, and diplomacy in dealing with multiple types of customers with varying socio-economic background, attitudes, intellectual levels

- Must be able to learn to and/or operate basic office equipment including items such as calculators and cash register
