The Commercial Communications team is looking for a PR manager to drive the communications agenda for Cloud + Enterprise and Developer business.   In this role you will have the unique opportunity to create and execute a communications strategy for Microsoft’s global datacenter portfolio that positively shifts the perceptions of consumers, technologists, business audiences and policy makers.

In this role you will:

Create and execute a communications strategy for Microsoft’s global datacenter portfolio, including:

End to end announce strategy from ground breaking to deprecation of physical datacenter facilities

End to end announce strategy for regional commercial cloud service announcements (Office 365, Azure and Dynamics)

Partnering with consumer cloud service teams on regional service announcements

Provide subject matter expertise and counsel on all Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Organization related communications issues.

Partner with engineering, marketing and field teams on datacenter communication planning and execution

Develop and maintain content, messaging and positioning guidance in support of our global datacenter portfolio and the Microsoft Cloud Infrastructure Organization

Partner with and manage external agency resources

Skills and Experiences we are looking for:

Undergraduate Degree in Communications, Marketing or Information

Technology

5-6 years of PR and marketing communications experience

Broad marketing, digital marketing or communications program design experience preferred

Experience with cloud services, datacenters, datacenter communications and/or issues management for information technology companies

Experience marketing to IT, developer, business or start-up audiences

Additional experience in field, sales or technical roles is a plus

Excellent communications, writing and project management skills

Integrated marketing, messaging and positioning proficiency.

Candidates should have a proven track record of cross-group collaboration, the ability to influence corporate and field teams at multiple levels of the organization, and business maturity.

The Global Poverty Project and United Nations Population Fund's new global campaign, #Showyourselfie, is growing fast internationally. As such, we are looking for a talented, driven and passionate Campaign Manager to elevate the campaign to scale across 2015. The position is a consultancy for a period of ten months.

About #Showyourselfie:

Showyourselfie, a campaign by the United Nations Population Fund and Global Poverty Project, is a visual petition to ensure that the rights and needs of adolescents and youth (age 10 - 24) are strongly included in the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The campaign is mobilizing young people around the world to submit their selfie as a personal signature and demonstrate visible support for youth. #Showyourselfie will present the largest ever visual handover to Member States at the UN General Assembly in September 2015 and call for bigger and better investment in young people's rights and needs at the national and global level.

Responsibilities

The Campaign Manager for #Showyourselfie will be responsible for driving a global partnership, marketing and social media driven campaign to ensure that the rights and needs of adolescents and youth are at the center of the Post-2015 development agenda. The campaign, launched in August 2014, on International Youth Day, aims to develop the largest ever visual petition to hand over to world leaders at the UN General Assembly in September 2015. The visual petition aims to ensure that governments will adequately invest in the rights and needs of young people. The Campaign Manager will be responsible for driving all elements of the campaign including high-level partner engagement, strategic activation, marketing and media.

This is a full-time 10-month position starting in January 2015 and ending in October 2015. The role will be based at the UNFPA headquarters in New York City, with 2 days being spent at the Global Poverty Project headquarters.

A B.A in Communications or B.S. degree in Computer Science or similar field is preferred. Experience authoring or managing content for IT or security professionals is a plus. This role requires responding to intermittent and unexpected issues that may occur and result in work activity occurring outside the hours of 8am - 6pm.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a four year degree in management, business, engineering, or information technology and/or 7+ years of demonstrated corporate MIS experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have excellent organization, communication, Project Management, negotiation and problem solving skills, and a proven understanding of corporate account business needs and knowledge of support industry. Key Responsibilities:

•      Define, lead, and execute business plans and priorities through excellent business planning, scorecard and ROB management for SQL Server in SMB

•      Execute plans to drive awareness and Hoster-generated revenue through the SMB Channel

•      Define and execute digital SMB campaigns that drive awareness, consideration and revenue leveraging self-service business models.

•      Lead strong marketing strategy, partner and sales enablement within the US subsidiary and US market via customer or partner targeting, landing the product value proposition, messaging, compete, positioning, and GTM approach..

•      Work with WW C&E BG to land SMB business priorities, readiness and campaigns across customers and partners that drive to scorecard achievement.

•      Land digital/telemarketing campaign to increase net-new SMB customers.

•      Lead excellence in execution across the customer journey as the orchestration point across the US subsidiary for all C+E products in SMB

•      Be a product evangelist by storytelling through customer and partner engagements

•      Gather and analyze business insights through events, customer and partner engagements or visits, and EBCs to improve financial performance.

Key Qualifications:

•      A highly-motivated, results-driven, strategic thinker with robust analytical skills and in-depth knowledge of integrated marketing strategies and execution.

•      Candidates should have a demonstrated track record of success in product management, sales, marketing, business or program management.

•      Segment (SMB) or Subsidiary knowledge preferred.

•      Working knowledge of the C+E product portfolio.

•      Audience experience an asset including IT Pro, BDM or Partner.

•      Experience profitably growing revenue in the SMB community, as asset.

•      The ability to work independently in ambiguous and changing environments, along with exceptional listening and collaboration skills

•      Strong communication skills; must thrive working across organizational and cultural boundaries

•      5+ years’ experience in consulting, marketing, strategic planning, financial or business analysis.

•      BA or BS required in marketing, math, economics, engineering or a related discipline. MBA strongly preferred.

The Azure VM Program Management team designs and builds the IaaS offering of the Azure platform, on both Linux and Windows. The team interfaces with external partners, helps internal partners, and builds the overall Azure compute strategy. The team also develops the business logic and technical requirements for worldwide deployments of Azure applications.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Program Manager to create an ongoing compute vision, plan and drive features and architecture changes across a wide set of technology areas in the team, specifically focusing on Linux and other Open Source solutions. This role will also be responsible for improvements in the scalability and global deployment of components managing compute resources.

The responsibilities will include:

• Formulating a vision, value proposition and roadmap for compute improvements in the platform.

• Guiding design and direction of the compute components, helping design for scalability and global reach.

• Driving customer-focused engineering by planning and designing platform improvements based upon customer feedback.

• Leading a team with guidance and direction based upon the above vision and strategy.  

• Driving business strategy across multiple facets of the compute stack.

The Qualifications

• Open Source development and Linux expertise is required

• Strong leadership, with proven track record with Program Manager core competencies.

• History of successfully coordinating cross-team projects and collaborating with partners, both internal and external

• Track record of making trade-offs, negotiating, and building consensus, all while keeping the project goals in mind

• 8-15 years of engineering experience, with demonstrated success in leading complex, cross-team software projects from planning through release

• Strong working experience in Windows or large-scale cloud applications.

• Technical Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

• Working experience in distributed programming models and in building very large scale distributed systems is desired
