Job summary

The Inventory Expert will be responsible for all merchandise that enters and leaves our retail stores.   The primary focus for the inventory team is to support the in-store customer experience while protecting the financial and physical assets of Microsoft.   This person is focused on all back-of-house operations, primarily focused on shipping/receiving and inventory control.

Summary of essential job functions

- Accurately receive merchandise into the retail location.

- Maintain stockroom organization per Microsoft expectations and guidelines.

- Perform detailed receiving and cycle counts as directed.

- Move merchandise to the sales floor so that merchandising standards and customer

- expectations are met and exceeded.

- Carry merchandise to and from customers on site as needed.

- Accurately ship/transfer merchandise to other locations/warehouse/vendors as directed.

Minimum requirements

- 3-5 previous retail inventory management experience, preferably in high volume/high traffic environment.

- 3-5 years’ experience teaching/training others regarding back-of-house operations/processes.

Skills /Abilities required

- Teamwork focused

- Attention to detail regarding inventory processes is critical

- Strong communication skills

Lifting up to 75 lbs with assistance (loading and unloading all those great products and carrying purchases out for our customers will be required!)

Role Summary/Purpose:    The Regional Food & Biofuel Expert will develop practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. In this role you will be responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. You will also have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities    - Provide technical support, expertise and problem solving for Industrial Process Food & Biofuel (F&B) chemical products and processes in North America, and represent North America in the Global F&B virtual team
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of regional F&B industry processes and unit operations
- Support and/or recommend new technologies in order to anticipate, apply, adapt or develop solutions for customer problems
- Contribute to the overall Industrial Process F&B chemical growth strategies
- Participate in cross-functional teams throughout the business to improve or resolve manufacturing, product line, supplier, or commercial issues
- Possess a fundamental understanding of product chemistries for Industrial Process chemicals in all major F&B industries
- Provide technical consultation, leadership, and guidance throughout the entire New Product Introduction (NPI) design process
- Author technical papers and present materials at technical tradeshows and conferences to create market pull for GE products and services
- Participate as a trainer in internal and external training classes and workshops with the Training and Marketing teams
- Identify business development and sales opportunities, including new product ideas and cost reduction projects
- Possess strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
Qualifications/Requirements:    - Bachelor’s degree in food technology, chemical engineering, chemistry, or other technical discipline
- Minimum 5 years experience in major F&B industries, including process chemical treatment technologies

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to travel regionally 20 – 40%
Additional Eligibility Qualifications    GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics    - Industry experience preferred
- Ability to work with and contribute to remote cross-functional and cross-cultural teams
- Multilingual, with English, Spanish and French languages preferred
- Experience publishing industry papers and presenting them at trade shows and conferences
- Prior technical support or sales experience with a specialty chemical company providing products and services for the F&B industries
- All U.S. locations may be considered
