The Business Sales Specialists will spend their focus optimizing business sale leads from Stores, supporting Microsoft sales executives, and generating new business from their market.   The role will require internal drive to deliver impact and results showcasing Microsoft devices and services.

Key Responsibilities

- Generate new leads and build relationships to drive margin and improve the store’s team productivity and operational efficiency

- Impact, shape and simple business for greater results and impact.   This position will interact deeply with in-store and regional market leadership and North American field team members.

- Knowledge of how businesses use technology and the solutions that Microsoft devices and services can offer

- Drive results while building strong relationships through walk-in traffic, education, Regional or National businesses, small office/home office customer (SoHo), small/medium businesses (SMB), and State and local government

- Facilitate business experiences through in store briefings, workshops, events and demo’s

- Must be able to manage business relationships across multiple departments and levels.  

Additional Skills and Abilities required:

- Have a love for Microsoft, be a brand evangelist, and have a deep understanding of Microsoft products (Windows, Office, Xbox, Windows Phone, Surface, and services).

The Business Sales Specialist will work for the Business Solutions Sales Excellence Manager and a Microsoft Store Manager.   They will be responsible for delivering business customer margin dollars, business customer satisfaction & partner collaboration.   The BSS will also have dotted line responsibility for Business Captains in each Store.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES

The Business Sales Specialists leader and their organization will spend their focus optimizing business sale leads from Stores, supporting Microsoft sales executives, and generating new business from their market.   The role will require an internal drive to deliver results around our devices & services.

Besides margin dollar generation and satisfaction scores, the leader will be expected to always improve the Store’s team productivity and operational efficiency.

This is an exciting opportunity that provides significant management interaction across many organizations, and the opportunity to impact, shape and simplify our business for great global impact.   This position will interact deeply with in-store & regional market leadership and North American field team members.

This role requires someone who is a strategic thinker, a strong collaborator, and who has impeccable leadership, planning and execution skills with a focus on driving results while building strong relationships.   Walk-in traffic, education, Regional or National businesses, small office/home office customer (SoHo), small/medium businesses (SMB), State and local government are a focus and relevant experience across these markets is important.

The successful candidate will have cross-functional Leadership experience (between departments and levels), stays current with business/technology trends and the poses the proper discipline is in place for smooth business operations that are detailed, focused and crisp.

Microsoft’s Gulf Coast District team is seeking a dynamic sales leader to manage a team of sales and technical specialists and win Core Infrastructure, Identity & Optimized Desktop solutions with enterprise customers. The Specialist Sales Manager for Core Infrastructure adds value to Microsoft by leading the development and execution of the sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue and Scorecard targets for these Core Infrastructure workloads. They will collaborate deeply with Solution Marketing, the Gulf Coast District account team units and Gulf Coast District EPG leadership and Sales Excellence to ensure sales alignment to Windows OS & Identity marketing campaigns, consistent execution of Scorecard and Compete plays and leadership of a high performing team of Core Infrastructure focused solution and technical salespeople across the Gulf Coast region. They will provide sales and technical leadership in the development and implementation of strategic or highly competitive customer account plans, directly sponsor large or competitive opportunities, and ensure partner, funding and resource alignment both on individual opportunities and across the pipeline.

The Specialist Sales Manager for Core Infrastructure will be a leader in sales execution of key Core Infrastructure priorities including:

Accelerating growth through Annuity, Cloud penetration and Scorecard excellence

Driving Deployment metrics for Windows and Azure across ~75 Enterprise Accounts

Winning against competition through execution and acceleration of Windows OS and Identity compete initiatives

Ensuring connected sales and marketing related to Core Infrastructure priorities

Ensuring Core Infrastructure sales alignment in the account team units

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the Windows OS & Identity sales strategy to ensure the district meets or exceeds Quota and Scorecard targets for these solutions

• Exceeds quota across the Gulf Coast District Core Infrastructure business by engaging in top opportunities, ensuring the delivery of customer-centric, solution-focused sales engagements; competitive and Microsoft workload/solution area readiness; the expansion of sales engagement resources including partners.

• Establish and implement operational process to manage a Valid, Healthy SSP Team Pipeline. Includes the review, analysis, and coordination of pipeline, ensuring the right resources are applied in order to win every time. Success is measured by pipeline comprehensiveness and accuracy, and by quotas being met or exceeded.

• Collaborate deeply to ensure a strong Partner Ecosystem. Includes assisting in the optimization of a partner engagement strategy through pipeline reviews, ensuring that the SSP team engages with the Managed Partner team processes, and prioritizes partner engagement in all Corporate Accounts opportunities.

• Builds and maintains a Motivated Community of High-Performing sales and technical specialists and driving the readiness and coaching needed to support that community.

Competencies & Skills Desired:

• Leadership skills, particularly as they relate to managing strategic issues such as revenue growth, competitive challenges, technology trends and partner integration.

• Strong knowledge of the Windows OS and Identity solutions, market opportunities, and Microsoft’s solutions in those markets.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Develop and attain customer experience and sales objectives for store. Sell all products and services offered by the Company. Meet all sales objectives. Handle all administrative aspects of the sale including: completing customer contracts and warranties, pulling products from inventory, accepting customer payments and filing the completed orders. Maintain strong knowledge of all products, accessories, pricing plans, promotions and service features. Maintain knowledge of competitive offers and provide critical market feedback to the Store Manager regarding local competition and product/service needs. Handle service inquiries from customers. Provide efficient, courteous customer service and assist in all aspects of product offerings and services. Ensure an extraordinary customer experience. Position may be commissioned and quota based.

Key responsibilities and activities in this role include:

•      Successfully driving win rates within assigned Data Warehouse opportunities through the delivery of technical sales engagements, POCs and technical presentations.

•      Assist in performing the technical qualification of assigned opportunities.

•      Developing technical elements of proposals and architectures that feed into DW solution documents.

•      Build relationships with relevant customer personnel such as infrastructure teams, enterprise architects and Data Warehouse managers.

Technical Requirements:

Subject Matter Expertise:

•      200 to 300 Level understanding of data warehousing and data management techniques such as data quality, data modeling, master data services, Kimball / Inmon / Data Vault approaches to data warehouse design

•      200 to 300 Level Understanding of the corporate data environment, tools used, both Microsoft (i.e. SSIS, SQL Server, SQL Server Analysis Services) and non-Microsoft (IBM DB2 / DataStage, Informatica, Oracle)

•      Experience with one or more large-scale data warehouse appliance solutions such as Oracle Exadata, DB2, Teradata, Greenplum and Netezza
