The US Health and Life Sciences (HLS) sales organization has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Microsoft Account Executive to become part of something special.   The company is making a major investment in Healthcare growing the number of customers served and dedicated resources each year.   Our clients are primarily healthcare systems, hospitals, clinics and health plans.  

This opportunity has been created by splitting one of our most successful territories as a result of multiple years of success allowing us to hire an additional Account Executive to manage the healthcare customers in the states of Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma and Southern Illinois.   The newly created position will be responsible for approximately 25 customers spread across these states with the largest concentration of customers is the Missouri / Southern Illinois area.

As an HLS Account Executive you will be responsible for achieving quarterly and annual revenue targets by selling Microsoft technologies and support services across the territory. The successful candidate must be able to creatively tackle complex architecture sales, major competitive threats, and customer "inertia," as well as be able to quickly make appropriate judgment calls and effectively allocate and manage resources.

You will be responsible for conducting quarterly business reviews with key customer contacts to gain insight into their business initiatives and barriers to the success of those initiatives. You will possess executive presence and the ability to develop win/win business relationships at the CxO level within IT and the lines of business. Annual improvements in customer satisfaction will be expected and measured by annual survey.

Development of an effective and actionable territory plan that aligns to the client's business priorities satisfies Microsoft's near term business objectives, and positions the territory for consistent long term growth will be required. A critical success factor for this position is a clear vision and attention to detail, leadership, execution, and engagement. Continuous reinforcement of your territory and account strategy, mentoring v-team members, and recognizing individual and team contributions will be critical.

Development and maintenance of a healthy opportunity pipeline and accurately forecasting your business on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis are part of the job. You must be able to qualify opportunities by clearly articulating the opportunity return to Microsoft strategically, financially, or both. You must establish and drive an appropriate rhythm of business process to produce the desired business outcomes.

Recommended Qualifications:

  Requires 8-10+ years’ experience as a Field Account Manager, Inside Account Manager, Solution Sales Specialist or Sales Manager.

  Must be available for overnight territory travel, training, sales conferences, etc.

We are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide executive level support and partnership to two high level General Managers in Windows Marketing.   This position will require someone who can adjust direction in response to changing situations, have a focused attention to detail, accommodate different working styles and prioritize their own work and tasks. This position offers a wide variety of administrative functions, as well as the responsibility for executive-level interfaces, working closely with the Corporate VP’s staff as their projects intersect with the executive. Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  Proactively managing a complex calendar with utmost attention to accuracy and timeliness

JOB DESCRIPTION: Education Licensing Executive, US Public Sector

This position is responsible for providing complex analytical and contract negotiation support for Education account (Higher Education and K-12) in the United States.   This individual will participate in the negotiation of terms and conditions necessary to close Campus & School Agreements, Enrollment for Education Solutions, Education Select Plus, consortia and other key Microsoft Volume Licensing agreements.   He/She will work with the Education Field Sales management team and Licensing Specialist team to develop overall strategy, territory plans, and specific account tactics to increase volume licensing and annuity revenue in the Education managed and breath businesses.

Responsibilities: This position will provide volume licensing leadership to the US Public Sector Education sales organization by collaborating with the Senior Leadership Team, Field Sales and Licensing Specialist teams to develop an Education-specific framework and plan to maximize our volume licensing and annuity revenue.   The individual must be capable of:

  Delivering expert knowledge of Microsoft volume licensing programs, negotiation strategies, and best practices to the Education Sector Field Sales VP/GM/Directors, Account Managers, Licensing Specialists, and others within the Education organization.

  Directly participate in negotiating complex terms and conditions outside of Field Empowerment necessary to close Volume Licensing customer agreements, and makes key decisions on agreements with input from the WWLP and Education management teams.

  Frequently engage in negotiations with customers via phone and video teleconferences, and attend face-to-face negotiation with customers when required.  

  Consistently apply complex licensing principles to reach successful sales solutions.   Identify and resolve agreement issues, recommend compromises, prepare contract amendments and price sheets, and coordinate the execution and distribution of final agreements with the Licensing Specialist team.  

  Ensure sales and negotiation strategies adhere to established WWLP guidelines, Microsoft policies and procedures, and maintain solid licensing practices and legal standards. Proactively identify and recommend solutions for improving volume licensing agreements, developing new volume licensing programs, contracts negotiations, and Field Sales processes.   Actively participates in the development of agreements related to new volume licensing programs.

This position will have frequent contact with all levels of Microsoft employees including individuals from the following groups: Worldwide Licensing and Pricing, US Public Sector Field Sales, Public Sector Industry Group, Channel Programs and Marketing, Finance and Volume Licensing Operations, Legal and Corporate Affairs, and Business Groups.

Qualifications (recommended): The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minimum 7 years of business experience with at least 5 years of applicable experience in sales and marketing, operations management, finance, and/or contract negotiation/management or an equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA preferred. Candidate must possess excellent demonstrated decision-making, problem solving and negotiating skills.   Good software industry and software licensing experience is a must. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, analytical, and presentation skills are also required

Key responsibilities are:

Business Development:

•      Works across key Microsoft business divisions as appropriate to drive new business opportunities e.g. works with the industry solution teams, DPE and EPG as appropriate to develop industry specific solutions, services divisions such as Skype, Office etc. to drive services integration and other divisions as appropriate.

•      Works across the partner eco-system as appropriate to drive new business opportunities and secure joint investment for key initiatives e.g. works with Intel to develop joint investment plans focused on mutual objectives, CTE in conjunction with the Design-in team to look for new device opportunities etc.

•      Drive highly visible design wins and develop case studies that allow both the OEM and Microsoft to differentiate the offering in the marketplace and create new opportunities.

•      Develop business plans as appropriate to drive new opportunities with the partner that are beyond “business as usual”, removing any obstacles faced by the Microsoft and OEM teams and driving quality execution against the business development plan with other teams as appropriate through agreement to clear roles and responsibilities.

•      Effectively balances his/her involvement in customer engagements and is adept at positioning appropriately to other key teams to drive execution scale.

•      Proactively address and respond to competitive opportunities leveraging internal competitive intelligence.

•      Work with the OEM and marketing counterpart to ensure that both readiness and marketing “awareness and reach” are occurring in the Microsoft and OEM fields.  

•      Build trust with the respective Microsoft and OEM sales teams through an understanding of challenges that exist (i.e. where Microsoft and OEM compete and the implications at the field and customer levels).

•      Identification of cross-geography synergies that can benefit field teams in multiple subsidiaries.

The world of embedded devices and the Internet of Things (IoT) is growing rapidly. Microsoft is well positioned to grow our leadership position through our Intelligent Systems service and embedded devices built on Windows 8.1.   This role is specifically focused on growing our footprint in the mobility and hand held devices space.  

The OEM Embedded Group (OED) is hiring an experienced Channel Executive to drive the growth of our embedded business by developing deep relationships with our most strategic OEM partners.   The successful candidate will focus on developing and driving new design-in and design-win opportunities with key Tier 1 OEMs.  

This role will lead a consultative sales process resulting in the embedded system OEM manufacturer designing in and licensing Microsoft Embedded technologies.   This includes prospecting and qualifying opportunities, the ability to understand, communicate and provide guidance to the embedded system OEM manufacturers regarding MS product strategy, value propositions and direction.

This role will focus on OEMS who have a strong mobility and hand held business.  

The Channel Executive will:

•      Achieve revenue targets

•      Increase penetration of Windows Embedded products in named OEMs

•      Build deep account relationships with key tier 1 OEMs, including executive engagement.

•      Demonstrate excellent business management including pipeline coverage and forecast accuracy.

•      Support OEMs with registered designs to maximize results and return on investment

•      Work with distributors to ensure coordinated OEM account coverage and strategies.

•      Provide feedback to the business group to make sure that appropriate positioning, technical and marketing support and licensing terms are available for each device category.

Key metrics and results associated with this job include revenue attainment, Windows 8.1 design ins and wins, growing our share in hand held and mobility devices and increasing customer satisfaction.

The role requires a high degree of collaboration across Microsoft teams including product development, OEM, segment and specialist sales as well as supporting functional groups (Legal, Operations, OEM Policies & Programs, and Finance).

Basic Qualifications:

•      Proven track record achieving sales targets

•      Executive maturity and business acumen.

•      Experience engaging C-level executives

•      Knowledgeable and experience in enterprise mobile device sales and service

•      Experience and knowledge of the embedded devices space, key players and trends including hand held, mobility solutions, vehicle mount computers and small form factor tablets.

•      5+ yrs successful and proven performance selling in high tech industry.

•      2+ yrs experience in development, sales and/or marketing of embedded or OEM solutions

•      Solid understanding of “the channel” including: chip and board manufacturers, Authorized Distribution, Authorized Replication and System Builders.

•      Knowledge of Microsoft’s products & sales models.

A BA/BS degree in CS, EE or related discipline.
