Microsoft Reverse Logistics Supply Chain Design team identifies and enables a portfolio of services through a network of partners & suppliers which enable our business and operations teams to be successful.

With a broad base of product within the Microsoft ecosystem including PC hardware, software, Xbox, Surface, Windows Phone and many third party products, the Reverse Logistics team ensures that capabilities exist to replace, return, refurbish and end of life product.

The team is responsible for maintaining the pipeline of projects, driving continually towards the most appropriate and impactful network, ensuring services are cost effective, competitive and compliant. Deep consultation and collaboration with subject matter experts in many fields is maintained through a formal rhythm of the business and stakeholder communications. Once a supplier or service is identified and selected, the team is responsible for onboarding and transitioning to operations or supporting business teams.

As Microsoft reinvents productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more, through mobile-first and cloud-first, the supply chain design team has a key role in ensuring new innovative and industry-leading services are ready to support our customer and business needs, while at the other end of the lifecycle the evaluation of the current reverse supply chain network includes ensuring that consolidation or rationalization occurs where needed.

OVERALL REPONSIBILITY:

As the IT Network Design Program Manager, you will be responsible for assessing current and future system requirements and capabilities to support the global network. Working closely with regional network design team members you will be the primary interface into the larger Microsoft IT teams, understanding their strategy and ensuring that our needs are met within their various roadmaps. You will design proposed solutions leveraging existing capabilities from the Microsoft (and ex Nokia) supply chain networks, new supplier capabilities and planned new solutions / systems. Part of your role will be to ensure appropriate data / measurements are available to monitor performance and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  Performing evaluation of the existing IT solutions of both Microsoft and the former Nokia organization. You will leverage best in class and determine the most effective and impactful IT solutions and drive migration or onboarding where required.

  Manage the review and evaluation of new regional and global capabilities to meet the needs of services that have been requested by the business teams.

  Contribute to RFP (Request For Proposal) creation and evaluation in the area of new IT network solutions.

  Lead stakeholder reviews, drive modeling and the roadmap for delivery.

  Drive tight collaboration with the operations teams overseeing UAT and formal release to operations teams

  Facilitate measures and metrics that enable ramp up as well as sustained measurement. Work closely with operations teams and BI teams to ensure controls are implemented as part of any onboarding / migration programs.

  Close collaboration with regional design leads ensuring global alignment of solutions and timelines.

  Flawless launch of programs and initiatives.

  Management of program budgets in line with fiscal RoB accountabilities.

  Issue and risk management in collaboration with internal business partners and external IT teams.

  Owns and manages escalations, problem resolution and corrective action implementation, as needed.

SCOPE OF ROLE / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Stakeholder Engagement:

  Drive the agenda within the regions, content and communication for the program including weekly pipeline and portfolio meeting, ad hoc core team meetings, Steerco and Exec meetings.

  Participate or drive work stream meetings as required securing stakeholder agreement where needed.

  Prepare monthly reporting and communication to Stakeholders & relevant leadership teams and other key influencers.

  Participate in business envisioning and assessment.

Business Management

Maintain project plans and track deliverables

Coordinate with work stream leads to proactively manage milestone achievements

Fiscal Budgeting / Planning ensuring that all initiatives are included within financial planning forums

Provide weekly and monthly reporting on work stream and initiative status with corrective action as required

Manage Change Requests (CRs) and Risk Logs and “get to green” activities

Basic Qualifications

  5+ years of IT/ Engineering experience operating in a complex delivery environment

  Experience with shipping multiple full project release as Project/Program Manager, from release inception through post go live support

  Excellent project management skills and extensive IT project management experience with complex projects, with a track record of successful launches on time and within budget

  Proven capability in value stream mapping, solution design, problem solving.

  Experience in network assessment, optimization and migration

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

  Experience working on and delivering end-to-end supply chain services

  Experience working with SharePoint, Biz Talk as well as a good understanding of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS), MS CRM, Ms Dynamics.

  Experience with relational database development using MS SQL server

  Experience or exposure to SAP R/3 or SAP APO systems would be an added advantage.

  Experience working Using Agile based Scrum Methodologies.

  Ability and willingness to work in a team environment and report daily, weekly, and monthly status

  High degree of professionalism, especially when faced with critical and intense situations
