Outside Sales Representative

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Travel by car to and from customer locations independently as well as with business colleagues to make sales calls.
• Contact new and existing customers by telephone and in person to discuss their needs, and to explain how their needs will be met by specific products and/or services.
• Answer technical questions about products, prices, and availability.
• Utilize appropriate written and oral language to communicate with customers and co-workers.
• Build and maintain customer relationships.
• Quote prices, credit terms, and other bid specifications.
• Obtain quotations from manufacturers and vendors for purposes of building proposals and quotations for customers.
• Utilize negotiation techniques for the purpose of sales to customer, and purchases from manufacturers and vendors.
• Maintain customer records using automated systems.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange information such as selling strategies and marketing information.
• Have or obtain proper credentials to enter industrial facilities, which may require background check, drug test, etc.
• Attend national and local industry trade shows, manufacturer training, seminars, and conferences.

Requirements:
• BS or BA from an accredited university.
• 3-5 years experience in industrial sales.
• Self-starter who follows through to completion.
• Work with integrity and ethical business practices.
• Work effectively in a team environment.
• Customer-focused with ability to effectively resolve customer issues.
• Ability to travel frequently along the Gulf Coast.
• Proven history of successfully managing a sales territory.
• Experience selling technical products, preferably in the oil and gas industry or the petrochemical and oil refining industries.
• Proven track record of increasing sales and meeting goals.
• Ability to manage time, as well as multiple projects.
• Pass background check for a Transportation Workers' Identification Credential.
• Ability to understand and explain technical specifications.
• Exhibit good listening skills to ascertain customer needs.
• Experience promoting products through trade shows and conferences.
• Working knowledge of computers and basic software.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft application suite.
• Ability to communicate verbal and written technical information.

Hardee Sales is a small, Louisiana rep firm with an immediate need for an experienced sales representative in the Gulf Coast Region. This position will represent multiple product lines with emphasis on Analyzers and Instrumentation for the Refinery, Petrochemical, Oil & Gas and Process Industries. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, have excellent people skills, work well in a team environment, and have experience in the above-mentioned markets.
