The role: Data Center Automation Software Engineer
Google’s data centers are a key competitive advantage in producing our world-class products and services. As a Datacenter Automation Software Engineer, you will develop the software that is responsible for automating capacity planning, fulfillment and platform lifecycle management (fault detection, repair, upgrade, end of life) across the datacenter. This position involves working on large scale applications built using open source and Google technologies.
Responsibilities:
Develop Server side software systems to automate lifecycle processes and human interactions.
Work cross-functionally with internal customers to create next generation systems.
Build fault tolerant tools and infrastructure used by Googlers world-wide with your domain expertise in enterprise level applications and automation.
Requirements:
BS/MS preferred in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
At least 4 years of large systems software design and development experience, with extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux.
Extensive programming experience in C/C++ and/or Java (strong OO skills preferred).
Strong database design and SQL is a plus.
