Marketing Communications Specialist
The Marketing Communications Specialist is tasked with the development and management of electronic marketing programs including social media campaigns, mobile marketing, video marketing, and event marketing in both English and Chinese. This person will provide additional communications support for our China marcom activities and will liase between the sales and marketing teams in China, Taiwan, and the US. He/she must have a passion for digital communications, particularly new marketing methods such as social media, mobile applications, etc. Fluency of reading, speaking and writing in both English and Chinese is required so as to manage marketing programs in both the Americas and Asia.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work with Sales & Marketing to develop social media marketing strategies, including presence on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Twitter, etc. in order to build our brand and customer base.
- Create and manage corresponding social media marketing strategies pertinent for Asia, especially China
- Manage social media campaigns, including reporting required to maintain a strong program
- Develop relevant mobile applications to drive business
- Write, script and develop video marketing materials regarding LED technology, in English and Mandarin Chinese
- Manage constructive and effective relationships with third party vendors, agencies and partners
- Execute digital communication plans based on agreed upon strategies, within budgets and on time
- Monitor metrics pertaining to marketing strategies and make recommendations and changes based on analysis
- Provide on-going campaign analysis and innovation to re-invigorate the program moving forward
- Identify and keep up to date with the latest trends in digital marketing communications and incorporate these trends into digital marketing plans and programs
Qualifications:
- Basic understanding of LED industry/technology
- Marketing and/or communications experience in both China and the US with an understanding of cultural differences that affect strategy and presentation of information.
- Bachelor’s degree from leading four-year college or university, specializing in marketing and/or communications-related subject
- Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese (can read, write and speak)
- Superior writing skills in both English and Chinese in order to develop creative and effective marketing strategy and copy
