It will require a detail oriented candidate comfortable working on data intensive projects. The preferred candidate will have a professional demeanor, strong communication and organization skills, a motivated personality and the ability to work quickly and efficiently. This position will have a significant amount of interface with local assessing and taxing authorities. A 9/80 schedule is available .
Responsibilities may include:
Gather data and prepares tax returns to ensure tax compliance with state and local taxing authorities
Monitor both real and personal property assessments
Accurately enter all tax valuation notices in payment system
Process all tax payments for a geographic area in a timely manner
Prioritize work load depending on near term due dates
Respond to questions about business transactions from business units or departments
Ensure proper documentation of tax filing and tax receipts for audits
Assist with recurring and special projects as needed
Prepare various reports utilizing payment software at management’s request
Work independently as well as within a cross-functional project team environment
Knowledge of accounting principles
Responsible for creating reports and preparing upstream accrual reports for Accounting
Required:
HighSchool Diploma
2 plus years related work experience
TCI/PTMS property tax software familiarity
Proficiency in software applications (Word, Access, Outlook)
Proficiency with Excel
Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Access and Outlook
Ability to travel up to 5% within Texas
Preferred:
2 plus years property tax experience in the oil and gas industry
TCI/PTMS property tax software familiarity
Strong data base/computing skills
Strong Interpersonal skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
SAP accounting systems use
