Job Description:
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Data Consultant.  Consultant will represent the Information Management team on wide variety of projects across the Home Loans business to ensure data/information needs are met.  Will assess impact of projects on source systems, Datawarehouse/data mart, and reporting and analytical tools.  Will coordinate activities with other technical groups, including, but not limited to, the EIM and Home Loans technology groups.

Analyze information flow from source system through reporting and analysis.  Proactively manage the availability and quality of data and information needed to grow the business; initiate and participate in the management of changes to both customer and management facing systems needed to enable and extend MIS capabilities; ensure that new initiatives are tracked appropriately through the MIS environment; serve as a data steward for the Home Loans business unit; and provide quick response to ad hoc requests for information from management and analysts. This includes QA, researching data questions, issues and anomalies.

May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.  Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.  May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of data solutions. Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.

Facilitate development and management of common business definitions for the Home Loans business unit's data.  Data environment includes diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

This position will include data analysis, and may include data extracts and support of ad hoc requests from a variety of sources.  Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex solutions, often using new technologies.  The candidate will be expected to use data query tools, such as SAS, SQL, and Teradata SQL Assistant to pull and analyze raw data.

Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants.  Typically requires 7+ years of experience.

Job Requirements:
- Must have prior database management and project management experience.
- Must have 5+ years technical work experience doing data extraction/manipulation and analysis.
- Must be expert user of SQL. Experience must include using advanced functions to analyze and extract data. Experience with Teradata SQL or Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
- Must have in-depth knowledge and practical experience working in adhoc data environment accessing data from multiple platforms.
- Ability to understand and develop business requirements.
- Must have 5+ years experience in the consumer real estate industry.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required to effectively communicate the result of analyses to a diverse technical and non-technical audiences and understand their concerns.
- Ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment, be creative, and be able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills required for ad hoc data and situational analyses.
- Ability to make management presentations to communicate the results of analysis.
- Industry experience with delinquent loan portfolios is strongly preferred.
- Experience with Business Intelligence/Reporting Tools (eg Hyperion Essabase/Analyzer, Cognos, Business Objects, Microstrategy.)
- Management experience.
- Six sigma experience.
