We are seeking a talented, enthusiastic Medical Billing and Coding professional to become the Program Director and join our top-notch faculty. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Under direct supervision of the Dean of Academic Affairs or Campus Executive Director, the Program Director is responsible for teaching classes within the specific major as well as the coordination and administration of several functions and duties directly related to the program. Teaching: * Program Directors are typically assigned specific hours of student teaching or contact time per week. * Prepare lectures, in-class activities, homework assignments and assessments such as quizzes and exams. * Provide students with feedback on performance in a timely manner. * Complete attendance log on a daily basis. * Assign grades in a timely manner. ? Program Supervision: * Program Directors are expected to show positive outcomes such as retention rates, learning outcomes, graduate employment rates and performance on third party certification/licensing exams. * Handle student issues quickly, fairly, and effectively. * The Program Director is expected to participate in college governance, committees, and task forces. * Facilitate department meetings with program faculty, advisory board meetings, and curriculum review committees * Participate in Program Director meetings with the Dean and in all campus meetings. * Develops and evaluates sites for clinical education and externship. * Performs walk around management and classroom observations of all class sessions of the program. * Maintains inventory of equipment and supplies within the program. * Assists with textbook orders for the program. * Assists with selection and the interview process of faculty within the program. * Coordinates new faculty orientation and training for the program. * Coordinates renewals and maintains copies of current licensure, certifications, etc. as required for faculty in the program. * Maintains copies of current curriculum for the program. * Assists with accreditation reports, reviews, etc. as required by the program. * Maintains records, reports, examinations, data, and other program specific items as required by the college, accreditation, or governmental agencies. * Participates as assigned in related admissions and graduate employment services activities. Qualifications: * 3 years recent billing and coding experience. * Associates degree from an accredited school preferred. * Ability to motivate others; strong communication and presentation skills. * Actual teaching experience preferred. * At least 5 years of experience in the field, and instructional and leadership experience preferred.
