I can not find a city approved source for recycling old TV's - I know there are hazardous materials in them in the tube types- but what is valuable inside the guts of a television case?
According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the best option for recycling old electronics is to donate them. However, since the switch to digital broadcasting, many charitable organizations have stopped accepting analog televisions. Be sure to check with an organization before you drop off an old TV.
