Admissions Representative - University of Texas at Tyler - Tyler, TX

Position duration Funding expected to continue Position open to all applicants Monthly salary $2250 negotiable depending on qualifications. Hours per week 40.00 Standard from 800AM to 500PM General notes The incumbent will be required to work some Saturdays to recruit prospective students. This position is to be stationed at the UT Tyler Advising Center on the TJC campus. Required Application MaterialsA Resume is required in order to apply. Go to Document Management to upload required materials. Purpose of position To recruit prospective high school and community college students.
Essential functions Work with prospective undergraduate students advising them of the opportunities available at UT Tyler and the processing of the necessary applications for admission to the university. Make presentations to prospective students and parents. Present Scholarship awards at area high school programs. Prepare unofficial core curriculum evaluations.
Marginal/Incidental functions Other related functions as assigned.
Required qualifications Bachelor's degree and at least one year of experience in an admission office. Strong organizational skills, experience working with students from diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated computer literacy and use of PC's and word processing packages. Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred qualifications Masters with previous experience in the recruitment of students, including making presentations. One to three years experience in an admissions office. Bilingual, knowledge of UT Tyler policies and procedures, familiar with campus, knowledge of POISE.
Working conditions May work around standard office conditions. Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
