Summary:
Premier provider of global institutional investment research, consulting, and investment advisory services, located in Venice, Florida, seeks an Entry Level Java applications developer. This position reports directly to the Marketing Data Manager. The key role of the Developer is to understand the business process and requirements of the Market Data team and Audit Teams and to support production processing of market data.
Qualifications:
Minimum of one-plus years of experience developing Java Applications for business and utilities functions with use of SQL query and database access At least 1 or more years of experience in any of the following languages preferred: Java, JavaScript, Java Swing, SWT, Adobe Flex, Python, Ruby, C, C++, or Perl (Java a plus!) Strong knowledge of Java and associated core libraries including Java utilities, Java.SQL, Java.io Ability to write SQL queries some complex for retrieval and updating Experience with Best Practices in software development including source code control unit testing and object-oriented design patters Experience with Testing, Debugging and Performance Prior experience with automated data processing and batch-oriented programming extremely helpful Knowldedge of standard ETL tools such as Microsoft SSIS or TalenD extremely helpful Knowledge of advanced Java helpful using Java generics, distributed technologies concurrency Knowledge of open source Java libraries frameworks helpful Knowledge of Unix OS helpful: Shell Scripting and associated command-line utilities Ability to work independently to resolve technical and business problems Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or any related field Master's degree in Business Administration is an added advantageBenefits:
