Role Summary/Purpose:    The Lead Engineer / Technologist demonstrates leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role you will utilize your power conversion experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
Essential Responsibilities    The ideal candidate develops practical and innovative ways to identify and meet goals. Is responsible for work that is less defined in scope and has the understanding and experience to execute business objectives. This role has the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.

- Executes the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
- Provides technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project.
- Documents technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
- Provides timely communications on significant issues or developments.
- Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues.
- Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
- Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Qualifications/Requirements:    - Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering position
- Willingness and ability to travel 10% of the time
Additional Eligibility Qualifications    GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
Desired Characteristics    - Ten years of hands-on experience designing and developing high power (2KW-100KW) power conversion products such as AC-DC, DC-AC and DC-DC Converters.
- Strong Technical background in designing high power multi-pulse magnetics and three-phase PFC circuitry.
- Experience in designing low and high frequency (low and high power) magnetic components.
- Experience with battery charging and control is helpful.
- Experience in design techniques for EMI/EMC compliance to the requirements of MIL-STD-461 and DO-160 is essential.
- Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment is helpful.
- Solid knowledge and proficiency of standard electrical engineering software (schematic entry, simulation, etc.) and familiarity with Military Standards and Requirements is essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
