Summary

This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity inside the perimeter. The Senior Developer will be responsible for mentoring senior and junior level developers with respect to emerging technologies and also lead/manage small-to-medium sized technology teams. Responsibilities related to software development projects will include participation in overall solution design, ensuring use of existing enterprise architecture and development patterns. You will participate in the development of new architecture patterns or components and compliance with any regulations or enterprise policies impacting design, development and operation of deployed software. Ideal candidate should have experience working within a project team, following established application development patterns, being a positive collaborator in the application development environment, and contributing to the overall enterprise architecture.

Responsibilities

Design and build software as per the technical and functional specifications, enterprise application development patterns, and technical standards. Interact with the clients/stakeholders to understand the requirements. Mentor other developers with respect to emerging technologies and enterprise development practices and standards. Lead the evaluation of emerging technologies, develop proof-of-concepts, and promote the usage of these emerging technologies Lead and manage small-to-medium sized technology teams. Work as a positive team member of a project that may consist of Business Analysts, Project Managers, Information Architects, Architects, and/or Database Administrators to deliver quality applications and components within scope, on time, and within budget. Ensure software development standards, enterprise patterns and components are utilized in software development projects. Communicate with stakeholders in requirements and design process

Qualifications

In-depth understanding of Object-Oriented Analysis and Design principles. Understanding of N-tier application architecture, software design patterns Hands on experience with Java/J2EE, Hibernate, XML, AJAX, web-services and SQL.
Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and methodologies like Agile/Scrum. 1-2 years prior experience designing and implementing large-scale multi-tier web-based applications. Excellent knowledge of Linux/Unix commands 1-3 years prior experience working with RDBMS like Oracle, Microsoft SQL server or MySQL database Experience implementing applications using Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and Event Driven Architecture principles. Experience building enterprise application in another application framework (.NET, PHP or ColdFusion) besides Java/J2EE. Experience building web applications using Google Web Toolkit (GWT) a plus! Knowledge and use of Subversion source code management and Jira defect/feature tracking tool a plus! Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL databases a plus! Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering, with 4+ years' work experience or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Engineering with 5-6 years of work experience, or High-school diploma with 8+ years' experience in software development
