Money Smart Week® 2012 will take place April 21 - 28.
Money Smart Week® takes place throughout the Seventh Federal Reserve District and continues to spread around the country. Select your region or state below for information on programming in your area. The Federal Reserve has also partnered with the American Library Association to bring you Money Smart Week @ your library which includes library activities and events in more than 30 states. Don't see your state? Check back often, as we will be adding new events every day! During Money Smart Week, you might learn how to apply for a mortgage, prepare for retirement or teach young people how to save. Join us as we celebrate 10 years of helping people become Money Smart!
Not Money Smart Week® right now? Then take a look at our resource bar on the right, where you'll find links to games your children can play and tips on how you can get a handle on your finances (some are in EspaƱol, too). You'll find additional news items about events and activies around the country in the "news" section below.
A simultaneous reading of Berenstain Bears’ “Dollars and Sense” story is slated for April 21st at 10 a.m. in communities throughout Illinois and St. Louis. With literacy and financial literacy often going hand in hand, Money Smart Kids Read gives us an opportunity to bring a little bit of fun and education to our communities. We hope to engage both parents and children through this activity. Children are invited to a familiar location in their community. A guest reader will read the Berenstain Bears’ “Dollars and Sense.” Some locations also will provide an age appropriate activity. Locate a library near you!
Let the competition begin! Money Smart Week® will take place throughout the District in April 2012. So, it's time to fire up those laptops or take out your library card and start to write your Money Smart Kid essay. You have a chance to win some scholarship money and get some money smarts. Download a flyer for the competition in your area. No flyer for your location yet? We'll be adding more over the next few weeks.
In an effort to push for a nationwide Money Smart Week campaign, Wisconsin will no longer be hosting a full Money Smart Week in the fall. Instead, there will be a smaller fall promotion, with the full Money Smart Week taking place April 21 - April 28, 2012, in harmony with the rest of the states. For more details please contact Alejo Torres or Tiffany Butler.
