This position will require a full and comprehensive understanding of the LIS (Laboratory Information System) as well as the clinical laboratory billing system (Sea Coast) and all aspects of laboratory revenue cycle management. The Director position will manage, lead and direct the activities of the centralized billing staff through daily supervision while overseeing all Billing and Accounts Receivable functions.

Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in business administration, healthcare administration / management or related healthcare field. A minimum of 5 years senior management experience as a Manager or Medical Billing Director in a Clinical Laboratory, or other related healthcare field. Five years plus medical reimbursement experience, with progressive supervisory management in an automated billing environment. Well-versed with all federal, state and HIPPA privacy regulations and HIPAA regulated code sets to include thorough working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding protocols and procedures. Possess the knowledge base to assess the effectiveness and accuracy of LIS and Laboratory Billing System, providing input as necessary to making corrections and/or enhancements to revenue cycle management and outcomes. Audit, compliance, billing, collections, A/R follow-up, coding or other relevant work experience Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases. Knowledge of medical necessity rules and procedures impacting claim submission, denials and insurance reimbursement. Knowledge of the Medicare MAC and RAC, regional, state and other local and federal laboratory billing regulations. The ability to search, review and present the regulations and policies of other States and various payers in a timely manner is essential. Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to provide clear, concise directives, with professional diplomacy and positive outcomes. Writing skills to include the ability to effectively provide SOPs for the various aspects of the revenue cycle including efficient A/R management. Demonstrated strong organizational and leadership skills in a fast paced, growing environment. Detail oriented. Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to effect positive change. Ability to foster and maintain relationships with internal department heads and staff, external vendors, payers and healthcare providers/clients.
