Essential Functions/Duties:
Answers incoming telephone lines for Enterprise Services and Public Works Departments. Is familiar with City services and directs customers to the correct department and staff. Takes accurate messages and routes to the appropriate person. Enters and updates service requests and work orders in various software applications. Makes outgoing calls to customers to update status of orders. Conducts follow up phone calls to determine customer satisfaction on completed orders. Serves as a receptionist and directs visitors to the appropriate location. Files correspondence and reports. Copies, scans and collates information as needed. Performs secretarial duties as needed. Performs related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Experienced with the use of computers, printers, copiers and scanners; use of appropriate grammar; ability to maintain effective working relationships with others; ability to work independently in the absence of specific instruction; ability to meet the public effectively and afford excellent customer service.
Education/Experience/Physical Demands/Special Requirements/Additional Information:
High school diploma plus a minimum of 3 years of telephone customer service. Ability to type at least 35 wpm and proven experience with Microsoft Office Suite products. Most possess a valid appropriate driver’s license with acceptable driving history. Drug screening, criminal background, and a POET (post offer employment testing) are required. Ability to push, pull, or lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
