Patient Representative job - Department of Veterans Affairs - Montgomery, AL





The Patient Representative position is assigned to the Patient Advocacy Program in Customer Service. The incumbent serves as the liaison between the Health Care System, the Director, patients/families and staff of the facility and the community it serves regarding patient rights and advocacy. The work site is either at the Tuskegee Campus, Columbus CBOC, Montgomery HCC or Montgomery Campus. The position may involve travel or temporary assignment to any CAVHCS site to provide coverage or participate in organizational activities/functions as assigned. Duties include, but not limited to:

· Provide a channel through which patients can seek solutions to problems

· Work with health care providers and administrative staff to prevent and resolve patient complaints

· Collect, analyze and evaluate data

· Represent the Health Care System Director in safeguarding the constitutional rights of patients

· Assist patient in understanding their rights, in addition to their responsibilities

· Conduct in-service educational training to include customer service, patient-centered care and cultural transformation

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM – 4:30PM
