Responsibilities:
Perform word processing duties such as correspondence, contracts, minutes, reports, schedules, rosters, forms, etc. Edit work for accuracy, format, and punctuation.
Serve as receptionist for the School, receiving visitors, answering phones, distributing messages and providing information within scope of knowledge and authority. Aid new employees with logistics.
Coordinate all School of Communications office moves.
Review incoming mail for appropriate distribution and action.
Assist in maintaining the department chairs’ calendars. Assist Chairs with all DEC/SEC arrangements.
Utilize University selected software to retrieve and maintain information. Post announcements on MyQ.
Document and maintain faculty committee service and Admissions event coverage.
Assist in the supervision of student employees.
Coordinate online student Course Evaluations at mid and end of semester.
Arrange conferences including travel arrangements and meetings as required, notify participants, and arrange for all materials, facilities and support functions.
Organize and maintain departmental records including syllabi, course descriptions and special topics classes, assuring efficient retrieval.
Perform additional secretarial duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Special Instructions to Applicants:
Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
1 to 3 years experience working in high traffic office setting.
Attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
Experience with Datatel/Colleague Advancement is preferred.
Please note this is a Grade 5 position in the Clerical & Technical Unit, hourly rate is $20.58. In addition, it requires a successful completion of both a background check and Microsoft Office skills tests.
