PURPOSE OF PROJECT:


Horizonis World Vision’s mobile-capable programme management information software. Horizon serves as a central system for accessing all World Vision operational data from programmes/projects and it provides a secure suite of tools for effective project management spanning strategy, programming, child sponsorship, reporting, and grant and finance initiatives.


PURPOSE OF POSITION:


The Horizon Grants Capability Manager is responsible to manage the business requirements, design, development, testing and implementation of the Horizon Grants Capability Roadmap integrated with Horizon programme portfolio plan, and assure that the product meets business and ministry needs, through consultation and collaboration with relevant stakeholders and alignment with partnership strategies and plans.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:


Horizon Grants Capability Planning and Requirements:


  • Provide input to Horizon release plan from grants capability perspective including planning for business engagement in specific milestones / deliverables.

  • Lead the functional requirement definitions supported by Horizon Grants Subject Matter Expert Group consisting of field practitioners, SOs and GAM team, and in consultation with relevant stakeholders.

  • Identify and define high level business requirements that drive security considerations and privacy requirements (e.g. origination or collection of content, transit, storage and sharing of content).

  • Manage tracking user requested features and enhancements that meet the innovation needs of grants capability, and inform the prioritization of the Capability Roadmap.

Horizon Grants Capability Development:


  • Lead the definition and design for a single and integrated user experience in desktop, tablet and mobile for grants capability as part of user experience design of Horizon.

  • Support input to integration solutions working with the development team in creating interfaces and links with other systems as it relates to grants.

  • Support development of test resources to ensure that business inputs are provided and interests are adequately represented.

  • Manage grants function participation including the Horizon Grants Group in development including review of design, wireframes and different sprints.

  • Coordinate business engagement in tests particularly in user acceptance tests to ensure participation by business and that any new business rules or requirements is validated as part of the process.

REQUIRED SKILLS INCLUDE:


Required:


  • Bachelors Degree in development, information systems or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

  • Demonstrated expertise in roles related to capability management and grants systems, processes and data from an expert user perspective in World Vision.

  • A minimum of 5 years experience and in-depth knowledge in grants preferably within World Vision.

  • Knowledge of World Vision, its grants acquisition, programming and management.

  • Experience in working with cross sectors and functions around enterprise wide change processes.

  • The position requires ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30 % of the time.

  • Strong analytical, creative, and innovative approach to solving problems. Critical thinking and capability of generating consistently accurate and useful information to inform strategic planning and decisions.

  • Must be highly self-motivated and driven to succeed in a fast-paced working environment.

  • Strength in building and managing effective work relationships with both local and dispersed colleagues.

  • Ability to effectively communicate with many different functions, cultures and levels in the organisation.
