The Corporate division encompasses the core operational support for all Land O’Lakes businesses. It includes Corporate Strategy, Corporate Communications, Land O’Lakes Foundation and Community Relations, Finance, Law, Member Relations, Facilities, Event Strategy, Security, Human Resources, Information Technology, Corporate Marketing and Government Relations.
Position Purpose:


This position provides human resources leadership for the Land O’Lakes International Development division. Provides HR business partner support to IDD, domestic and international employees, including leadership, support and coaching to internal customers (i.e. employee relations, performance coaching, HR technology, policies and guidelines). Collaborate with IDD leadership & VP HR to drive and implement strategic talent management initiatives, provide organization change support, deliver training on HR related topics (formal and informal settings), and assist with special projects as needed. Understands, interprets, and initiates HR policies and practices that align with donor regulations, local labor law and LOL philosophies.

This position will report directly to the Human Resources Director and is an integral team player on the International Development leadership team.

This position provides HR services to staff in Shoreview, Washington D.C., and more than 20 countries (including expat, TCN and local staff).


Based in Shoreview, Minnesota.

Experience-Education (Required): •BS/BA or higher in Human Resources Management

•10 or years H.R. Generalist experience

•5 or more years of experience in the field of international development

•Prior experience with US Government employment rules & regulations


Competencies-Skills (Required):

•Demonstrated ability to work with business leaders to achieve business results; excellent business acumen

•Demonstrated experience in organization change leadership

•Must have strong collaboration, facilitation, and leadership skills as well as demonstrated ability to exercise judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships with all levels of employees

•Must have solid communication skills (written, verbal), be an active listener, customer-focused, and demonstrate unquestionable ethics and values

•Must be able to research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions, present facts and ideas clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing, make recommendations effectively, and execute plans of action

•Must have excellent organizational skills with an emphasis on attention to detail and accurate recordkeeping

•Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and experienced with HRMS systems


Experience-Education (Preferred):

MAIR or MBA in HR

•GPHR certification


Competencies-Skills (Preferred):


•Experience managing HR requirements from multiple donor sources, such as Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and/or DFID development programs

•Non-profit HR Management

•Language skills
