Premera Operations encompasses everything from Customer Service, Claims, National Accounts, and Membership & Billing, to the Kaizen Promotion Office, which is responsible for coordinating the implementation of Lean at Premera.
Position Description
Job Summary:
This role supports general business operations by providing various administrative support activities: clerical duties, data entry, reception, mail distribution and other administrative/clerical related tasks.
Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities may include one or more of the following office support activities:
Clerical: Performs clerical work such as document processing or record keeping. Assists with other related clerical duties as needed such as photocopying, faxing, filing and collating, scheduling meetings, calendar maintenance, parking validation, website updating, tracking of information, preparation of charts, graphs, and/or tables for presentations or inclusion in reports, etc. Assists in the ordering, receiving, stocking and distribution of office supplies.
Data Entry: Enters, keys, and verifies data into various standard computer applications, within clearly defined standard operating procedures and guidelines.
Reception/Switchboard: Greets clients and visitors at front desk. Answers incoming calls and typically operates a multi-line telephone system.
Mail Distribution: Receives, sorts and forwards incoming mail. Responsible for incoming and outgoing mail, including distribution (mail, FedEx, UPS, etc.). Maintains and routes publications. Coordinates the pick-up and delivery of express mail services.
Other clerical duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
1. High school diploma or GED.
2. Three (3) months’ work experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Strong organizational skills.
2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
3. Exceptional interpersonal communication skills.
4. Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
5. Able to work collectively with the administrative team associates, as well as others across, up and down the organization.
Working Environment:
• Work is performed within a normal office environment with ambient temperatures.

This is primarily a sedentary role which requires the ability to exert up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. This role requires the ability to keyboard and to communicate clearly and understandably in person, and over the telephone. Some filing and mail delivery is required. This would require the ability to lift files/small packages, push mail carts, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
